The first-ever "Wonders of Cannabis Festival and Exhibition" is drawing thousands of people to San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.

It's organized by marijuana activist Ed Rosenthal, who says he wants to underscore what he sees as the public's right to use pot.

According to Rosenthal, 750,000 Americans were arrested last year for marijuana offenses. He calls that "a waste of money, a waste of lives and a waste of psyche." He says cannabis has lots of uses for humans and "should be celebrated."

We have an annual "Pot Parade and organization in my town".

It has been going on for a few years now. Eveyone is polite(after all we are Canadian, ha, ha)not rowdy, and the Police just sit back and watch to make sure everyone is behaving themsleves.

Unless someone is dealing, the police just watch. There was a picture of a person trying to "intice" a police officer with a joint. The cop just smiled and held up his hand as in "no way".

Made the front of the newspaper, all in good fun.......

Residents of the Mile High City have voted to legalize the possession of small amounts of marijuana for adults. Authorities, though, said state possession laws will be applied instead.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting early Wednesday, 54 percent, or 56,001 voters, cast ballots for the ordinance, while 46 percent, or 48,632 voters, voted against it.

Under the measure, residents over 21 years old could possess up to an ounce of marijuana.

I have question though: Even though a state allows say medical pot or decrimilization of sxall amounts, doesn't Federal Law still apply and "trump" state law.
