Police hope an autopsy will help identify badly decomposed human remains found clogging a Salt Lake City drainage pipe near the Jordan River.

Salt Lake City police Detective Richard Chipping said it was initially impossible to even determine the gender of the body, which was discovered by city Water Department workers cleaning out the drain shortly about 9 a.m. Wednesday at 1310 S. 900 West.

According to Salt Lake Police Sgt. Robin Heiden, police are confident that the body is that of an adult male.
Salt Lake police detective Richard Chipping said there was nothing on the body that could help investigators make further identification.

The body was taken to the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office. Chipping said dental records might be used to attempt to identify the person.

It could take one to two months to make an identification, Heiden said.

there was one in Arizona recently as well. I don't have a link but I saw it in another thread, possibly Jesse Wilson's. Wonder if that one was ID'd.

He is the right height but Macin was only 17 and while St. George is not really near Salt Lake City, perhaps he hitch-hiked there?

I wonder if Brandon Perecz http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...randon-Perecz-28-Snohomish-County-24-May-2016 could have made it to Salt Lake? I see a strong resemblance there. The height is very close UID: 72" Brandon: 73" the age also fits UID: 20-30, Brandon: 28. He does not have the same injuries listed but does have a fair amount of injuries total. The UID has "Mild to moderate osteoarthritis and degenerative disk disease of the spine." While I couldn't find a great deal of medical info it appears that methamphetamine use can cause these conditions. As per a link on Brandon's thread he does have a history with it.

I think this man may have been identified -the NamUs link no longer works. I can’t seem to find any news stories confirming this or shedding light on who he was.
