Friends of a Middleton man who has been missing since Sunday are asking for the public's help.
Christian Lepe was last seen running from his car, which is still parked at the Middleton Lakes Subdivision.

The first article says he was seen running FROM his car and it's still in his subdivision. Weird!!!

This other article indicates he left IN his car, which was later found abandoned. It says: "Christian Lepe was last seen on August 21st driving away from Middleton. His black 2013 Dodge Charger was recently found abandoned with no trace of him."

Which one is it? He ran away from his car, or drove off in his car and abandoned it?

The article also says that his car is black. In the pictures it looks blue... Blackberry Pearl is the Charger paint color for that year if it does happen to be the dark blue paint.

Body found in area where Middleton man went missing

A body was found in the neighborhood where Lepe went missing shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday.

ISP was on the scene, but they were not connecting the discovery of the body to the missing man.

ISP did confirm that a man's body was found and that the body was found by an ISP detective.

A pond area was blocked off by caution tape.

They said the coroner will release more information at a later time.

Body found in Middleton lake; friends say it is missing man

A man's body was found in the water at Middleton Lakes Subdivision Thursday afternoon, about four days after a 38-year-old Middleton man was reported missing.

Christian Lepe was seen running away from his parked car in the subdivision around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, his friend Jennifer Ross said. He was reported missing later on Sunday, and Ross was among the close friends who have been searching the lakes in the subdivision every day since.

The body was found "within maybe 10 feet from where he parked his car," Ross said.

Canyon County coroner Vicki DeGeus said investigators have an idea who the man in the water is, but his ID likely will not be confirmed until Thursday night or Friday. An autopsy will be conducted Friday, she said.

As of 5 p.m., DeGeus said, the body had not been removed from the water. The cause and manner of the death have not been determined.

Ross and Michelle Lackman, another organizer of the Facebook page Finding Christian, believe the man found in the water is their friend. Ross said Lepe was reportedly upset Saturday night/ early Sunday because of a dispute earlier in the day; she believes he accidentally fell into the water.

“I think I knew from the very beginning what the outcome would be,” she said.

Lepe did not live in the subdivision where he left his car. Ross said a police officer at the scene to impound the car discovered the body. She was notified of the body's discovery at 2:36 p.m. because she was listed as a contact for the missing man, she said.

Idaho State Police are investigating, DeGeus said.

Lepe worked from home in computer security, Ross said. She was too distraught Thursday afternoon to talk about her friend besides describing him as a good friend and loving father to his daughter, who is about 9 years old.

He grew up in the San Diego area, she said. If the body is confirmed as Lepe it will be returned to his family in San Diego.
