... state police and the Lawrence County coroner say theyre treating the deaths of Daniel, Robert and Richard Fombelle as homicides. But police havent ruled out that one or more of the brothers may have caused the Thursday morning blaze in Shenango Township, and stressed that theres no immediate threat to the public.

The brothers, Richard, 57, Robert, 56, and Daniel, 50, had lived alone in the home since their mother died.

A dog trained to assist in arson investigations determined the fuel used to start the fire also was found inside a vehicle outside the home that burned. Some fuel was spilled outside the residence, and in at least two other spots in the home where the fire began, police said.

Whose vehicle??? BTW, everyone living on the street is related to the brothers.

Fighfighters searching the house after extinguishing the fire did not immediately find the victims. Shenango assistant chief Brandon Rishel noted that when they were later discovered, it was in a secluded area of the basement.

Update: Fire Ruled Arson

A fire that claimed the lives of three brothers has been ruled arson, state police said.

During an initial search, Shenango Township Assistant Fire Chief Brandon Rishel said firefighters searched the first floor and the basement, but they did not find anyone inside the home.

Later in the day, the men were found in an area of the basement that wasn't initially visible to anyone.
