NJ NJ - Jyrine Harris, 2, Irvington, 23 June 2002

Submitted as a very unlikely match for Valentine Doe Hope found in Rockaway beach

Most of the people in Jyrine's house the night he vanished have not been ruled out as suspects in his disappearance, but there is little evidence available in his case. His case remains unsolved.

With all the people in that house and with a broken leg I doubt he ever made it out. Sad nobody had the guts to confess.

How sad, poor Jyrine. Imagine how much attention this case would be getting here if this happened now.

It seems solvable.

Put a new LE team on the case, put the information out on LE's social media sites appealing for tips, put out a new Crime Stoppers reward (maybe someone has "talked" by now), reinterview all who were in that house that night with the most skilled interviewers they've got...

Circumstances of Disappearance:
He was last seen sleeping in his bed at 1:00 am on June 23, 2002. He has not been seen since. He was last seen wearing a diaper with Muppet characters. Jyrine has a scar above his right eyebrow, a scar on the inner part of his right arm, a scar on the inner part of his upper left arm, and a birthmark on his back. When he was last seen, Jyrine had a cast on his right leg from knee to toe with writing on it.

Jyrine had ostogensis imperfecta, a rare disorder which causes brittle bones that break easily....

Jyrine was last seen sleeping in his bed on the second floor of his home on 40th Street in Irvington, New Jersey at 1:00 a.m. on June 23, 2002. He disappeared in the early hours of the morning while his teenage sister, L, was watching television downstairs with her boyfriend, G. The family searched the house before reporting Jyrine's disappearance to police at 5:00 a.m.

Jyrine lived with his grandmother and eight other people...at the time of his disappearance...

Authorities do not believe Jyrine was taken by either of his parents. It is also unlikely that he wandered away from the home, due to the broken leg which limited his mobility, and due to the fact that he has not been found...

Police have stated that G. has not been cooperative in the investigation. He has not been charged in connection with Jyrine's disappearance, however. Jyrine's four-year-old cousin, who shared a bedroom with him, says a Caucasian man and an African-American man abducted the child.

Jyrine's parents do not believe he was abducted, however; [his mother] believes there was an accident in the home that night and Jyrine disappeared as a result.

Most of the people in Jyrine's house the night he vanished have not been ruled out as suspects in his disappearance, but there is little evidence available in his case. His case remains unsolved.
