So let me see if I've got this straight.... Police are investigating an incident in which a person in a clown mask stabbed and killed a 16-year old? Wtf?

Oh no! Seriously? I guess I shouldn't be shocked. All these morons jumping on the scary clown bandwagon, guess it's just too inviting for the real lunatics. I figured it was going to be one of the "clowns" that we're going to get shot by frightened civilians.

This poor young man. RIP. Prayers for his soul and for those who love him.

If I read that right, the killer was wearing a mask only?

Okay so the victim and some friends were wearing masks, not the alleged killer.

Adams said this was a neighborhood argument gone terribly wrong. Reading police said Torres and his friends were wearing Halloween masks and scaring the neighborhood kids and Valentin-Bair confronted them about it and a fight broke out. "Mr. Bair had a knife. He used that knife and stabbed the victim, Christhian Torres, in the chest," said the district attorney.

Well, it finally happened. Someone finally got hurt with this silly scary clown pranking business that seems to have spread across the country.

Avery M. Valentin-Bair found guilty of third-degree murder in death of Christhian Torres - March 2018

As the gravity of what just happened sunk in and the courtroom cleared, Avery M. Valentin-Bair stared numbly at a wall before the tears began to flow.

After a week-long trial and more than five hours of deliberation, a jury found Valentin-Bair guilty Friday night of third-degree murder and aggravated assault in the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Christhian Torres on Sept. 25, 2016.

The jury found Valentin-Bair not guilty of the most serious offenses, first-degree murder, and of possession of an instrument of crime. He was found guilty of a second count of aggravated assault for slicing the hand of Darah Kim.

Avery Valentin-Bair sentenced for teen's death - April 2018

Before sentencing Valentin-Bair Friday, Judge Patrick T. Barrett said he's still stunned by how avoidable the death was and the "out of control" circumstances that led to it.

But the judge said the only person who knew Valentin-Bair had a knife was the defendant himself.

Barrett sentenced Valentin-Bair to a total of 22 1/2 to 50 years in state prison, following the recommendation made by Assistant District Attorney Daniel P. Troy.

Torres' sister and a cousin also spoke Friday, telling the judge that Torres' death left a giant hole in their family and brought pain like they had never experienced before. But they said no one was hurting as much as his mother.

Many of the more than 30 supporters sniffled as Melissa Torres gave a statement.

"When the defendant killed my son, he killed me," she said. "He ruined my life, my kids' life, my husband's life and many other lives. He was my first-born, my everything."
