"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Car found About 80 miles and 2 hours away from her residence. I wonder if it was disabled and if she left any personal effects inside the vehicle.

I live in this area, and the area where her car was found is pretty remote, but it seems she has been spotted walking through neighborhoods up here. I got this from The twin peaks sheriffs facebook page.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies, as well as members of the Search and Rescue team are actively searching for 25-year-old Jasveen Dhaliwal in the North Lake Arrowhead area of the San Bernardino Mountains.
On Monday, October 3, 2016, at approximately 7:30 pm, Dhaliwal’s vehicle was found abandoned by workers from a water treatment facility in Lake Arrowhead. Dhaliwal’s vehicle was parked in front of the entrance gate to the treatment facility. Arrowhead Highway Patrol Officers, as well as Twin Peaks deputies, responded to the scene. It appeared Dhaliwal left her personal belongings in her vehicle. The Cypress Police Department made contact at Dhaliwal’s residence to find out her whereabouts. Family members relayed Jasveen was last seen earlier in the day at home around 1:00 pm. She has hiked in the Lake Arrowhead area before. However, she did not have any known associates in the area. Dhaliwal has a history of depression and family members are concerned for her mental well-being.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Aviation Division, as well as the Rim Search and Rescue Team, responded to the call for assistance. Search efforts included the utilization of night vision and FLIR equipment. A Sheriff’s K-9 unit responded the past two days. However, she was not located. The Twin Peaks Station has received sighting information on Jasveen. All state she was observed walking in neighborhoods in the Lake Arrowhead area.
Dhaliwal is described as an adult, female 5’5, 190lbs with black hair and brown eyes. She was possibly last seen wearing a gray sweater and blue jeans. She did not have a cell phone or hiking supplies with her. Anyone with information on Dhaliwal whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Station at 909-336-0600.

This is hopeful news. Thank you, rocketgirl, and welcome to Websleuths! As a local, please keep us updated!
I'm thinking depression that it says she has a history of may be behind her taking off. Let's hope they find Jasveen today.
I was just coming here to add this link which had a little more info, but glad to read the Twin Peaks Sheriff have put out much more.

From the CBS Los Angeles link:
In her abandoned car they found "her purse and belongings still inside" her car.
However, it also says her "phone and laptop were left at home."
LE did see footprints, and SAR dogs did pick up on her scent in the area.
Her family said she is a nursing student and a graduate of Cypress College.Last edited by slowpoke; 10-05-2016 at 12:13 PM.
