The Denver Post reports (https://goo.gl/QOUZVJ ) the family found the remains of a young man south of Colorado Highway 67 on Friday afternoon, and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation is looking into missing person reports for clues.



Teller County Coroner Al Born says the man was in his mid-20s and had been dead for no more than two years. The man was about 5-foot-6.


Investigators have not said how he died.

The remains were found south of Colorado 67 near Willow Road.

The man was about 5 feet 6 inches tall at the time of his death, officials believe.

“Many of the bones, the human body’s bones, were there,” Born said. “There was a very good representation of the skeleton.”

Born said investigators, including the Teller County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado Bureau of Investigation, are scouring missing persons reports as part of their probe into the remains.

“We are doing a wide variety of searches trying to identify this person,” he explained. “We’re looking for help.”

Deputies say the victim was a white or Hispanic male and was between 5'4" and 5'7" tall.The case is being investigated as a homicide

I'd love for Daniel's remains to be found to bring closure to his family. I just can't figure out how he would have ended up 1000 miles away in Colorado. His car was recently found 40 miles North of Truckee, CA
