Wow-you'd think there would be a liitle more information here; they have a date last seen, but nothing says where he was last seen, and by whom. He was 16 years old, not an adult who could leave and not tell anyone where he was going-I wish there was some more information

I'm in contact with one of his brothers and there is a Facebook page. They are currently in the process of getting their DNA collected and processed.

I found the Facebook page.. there is not much info there either... sadly reminds me of Valerie Smith in 1981 from Queens.. there are a bunch of photos but no info really..

I was just looking at his brother's book and his synopsis is really interesting:

" I embarked on this journey about a month after Larry's birthday in 2016 and decided to sprinkle the fictional discovery of Larry in 1989 with the facts of the real case. I had thought of a donation to a missing persons charity with the profits but a friend suggested offering a reward if a reader's information could help me to find out what happened to him... The twists and turns our lives take in this work of fiction involve many real characters in my life and a few in the afterlife."

Article from 2016: First Person: Missing Larry’s Voice - The Independent

Larry disappeared at the age of 16 in January 1979 from New Jersey en route to the Super Bowl in Miami. But I had moved to New Mexico three years earlier, and that was the last time he spoke to me since he lived with my estranged mother then.

My family investigated back then with my father even hiring a private detective. But we had no luck, even with later investigations, including tracing his Social Security number to a gang member in East Hartford, Conn.

So perhaps he is somewhere to be found along that route.

Don had pretty much written Larry off to suicide many years ago since it was talked about in a diary.

The Vanished Podcast just released an episode about Larry's disappearance.
It's worth a listen. It's almost like he disappeared into thin air.

EPISODE 424: LAWRENCE "LARRY" GOODMAN

1000001393.jpg

In late December of 1978, 15-year-old Larry Goodman disappeared from Park Ridge, New Jersey. His mother left home that day to go shopping and asked Larry if he would like to go along with her, but he declined. When she arrived home, Larry was gone. His mother reported that he had left home wearing a red flannel shirt, jeans, a denim jacket, sneakers and had $30 in his pocket. Investigators spoke to the teen's friends, teachers, and parents, but no one knew where he may have gone. Larry was a good student, and there didn't appear to be anything in his life to run from. There were articles in the local paper detailing Larry's mysterious disappearance. The local police stated they had run down every lead and hoped to appeal to the public for information. Everyone was shocked when Larry reappeared 27 days later on his 16th birthday. Larry told his mother he had been hundreds of miles away in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The police closed the case now that he was home safe, but that wouldn't last long. Soon, Larry was gone again. Everyone assumed he had run away from home again and would return soon. This time, there were no articles in the newspaper about Larry Goodman. He never called or came home, and 45 years later, Larry's case remains unsolved.
If you have any information about the disappearance of Larry Goodman, please contact the Park Ridge Police Department at (201) 391-5401 or the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit at (609) 882-2000.
