Hi all,

The websleuths front page is trying to either load or redirect to a site called video.sekindo (dot com) - and all of my browsers are alerting me to the attempt and then hanging the site (thankfully since I don't want to connect or redirect to that untrustworthy site). I believe this is due to an ad link. I'm also starting to get a lot of auto-play ads with sound which is pretty jarring. It's made the site nearly impossible for me to browse. I'm afraid that websleuths has been serving up more than its share of malware/spyware ads which probably Tricia and Co. don't have a lot of control over due to whatever ad server they have contracted with, but it's opening up users to a lot of not great stuff. Is there a way to contact the ad server you are partnering with and and let them know this is unacceptable and press for a vetted subset of ads or something? It's a huge security risk!
thanks!

I've been getting ad redirects every ten minutes or so. Telling me I won something. I cannot even exit out. I have to reload WS each time in new window.

I will take a screen shot next time.

Whatever page I'm on here at WS is constantly redirecting to a security notice from my virus defender !
Then it changes to a site(s) I've seen before that are known virus pits !
This has been happening for some time now.
Very difficult to browse and read on this site. Any suggestions ?

im getting this redirect every time I log on to Websleuths on my iPad in Safari. It won't close and will pop up immediately if I close and open again. It's been 3-4 days now.

Edited to add: I've posted this via Google with no pop-up here.

I've been getting redirects all morning. I'm on a Windows PC running Windows 10 and using Chrome as the browser. Here are two of the sites that I am getting redirected to:

wpvresearchgroup.com (looks like an AT&T survey)

download.driversupport,com

Am using an older model HP desktop... if I log in to WS and don't immediately go to a thread -- the page changes to a malicious site. :(
If I backspace -- it goes to the chrome front/home page, not the WS page I was looking at.
So frustrating. :(
We use Webroot now after changing from Norton 360 ; but that's not helping.

I agree with all of the above and to tell the truth it makes me a little uncomfortable that WS seems to have so little protection from malware. I have stopped visiting on my phone and iPad as I seem to get caught up in a constant cycle of spam, pop-ups and re-directions and that's not to mention the data being con$umed by streaming four sets of video ads (with the accompanying noise) on each page...
I don't like to complain but I do think these factors influence how everyone experiences and participates in this forum.

I have been getting redirected as well and I am on a Mac-book. I have a malware program and when I scanned it cleared the virus. But after a day or two it pops up again..I keep clearing it and it is like reborn...GRRRRR

I get redirects every few minutes, often when I click to a new thread/page but sometimes unexpectedly. I usually read on my cell and the ad prevents me from doing anything other than going "back" or closing out. It seems somewhat tied to high traffic threads, as I was able to post here without issue but can't click on any of the most recently updated missing discussion threads. I have screen capped it, but can't upload currently. However, it is a "you're a winner" ad from "Zodiac Casino".

Thank you for posting this!
I have been getting redirects for a few days now in two different locations.
One is a windows 7 machine with Chrome, the other is windows 10 using Firefox
Most are windows fake alerts/warnings.
Usually I can back out of it, but sometimes it freezes my browser and I have to end task to get rid of it.
Hopefully this can be fixed soon!

Hi Everyone,

Our tech person is aware of this problem.

In the meantime, while we look into this from our side please try this;

[h=1]"How to remove Any Browser Redirect (Virus Removal Guide)”[/h]https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-browser-redirect-virus/

Thanks for your patience.

Remember Websleuths will be down starting today at 6:00 PM Eastern. We should be back up by tomorrow (Thursday) morning.

Please check our Websleuths Facebook page and Twitter account for updates!

Thanks for your patience.

Tricia

I am getting this also. Just last week I did all the above steps that Tricia outlined. Took quite some time. And today, logged onto WS and bam... back again.

Thank you Bently.

Everyone, I am so sorry you are having this problem. We are working on it.

The very best thing you can do is a screen shot. If you happen to click on the ad then please provide the link.

Thanks for your patience.

Tricia

I know you're aware of the issue & are working on it, but I've been getting a ton of redirects as well. These are screen shots of 2 that I've been automatically redirected to (has probably happened 25-30 times total today).
