Clyde was Native American, being the chief heir apparent to the *advertiser censored*-a-lul Pomo Band, whose traditional grounds were the mouth of the Noyo River in Fort Bragg CA. California Historical Marker: http://www.hmdb.org/marker.asp?marker=96677

Ukiah Daily Journal, 13 July 1988: https://www.newspapers.com/image/2949549 While still living in Fort Bragg, he visited a relative's home in Willits CA on 27 March 1987. He departed driving a yellow 1973 Ford Courier pickup truck with a white camper shell. The Ford Courier with camper shell was very like this: http://fordcourierforsale.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1975_postfalls-id.jpg

When he didn't show up in Fort Bragg, it was assumed he had returned to Arizona. On Sunday, 6 March 1988, a scrap metal collector found Clyde's remains. He was wedged beneath an abandoned refrigerator in Chadbourne Gulch along CA Route 1, two miles south of Westport CA and 13.5 miles north of Fort Bragg. Clyde was identified by his dental records. Forensic autopsy by the San Francisco Medical Examiner showed Clyde had died of multiple firearm wounds, including a bullet in the head. He had been killed at least six months prior to his discovery, and possibly as much as a year before. UDJ, 27 November 1992: https://www.newspapers.com/image/879523

I get an eerie sensation looking at this potential body dump site.

Vivid mental imagery of a yellow Ford Courier backing into this slot into the brush. Clyde chucked into the bushes. An old refrigerator thrown on top of him. The killer then speeding away northwards on Route 1.

There is nothing at all scientific about this sensation, and I have never felt it before in my entire life, but there it is..

At one time, LE thought the murders of Tod Sutherland and of Clyde Stanley might have been committed by the same individual. Both Tod and Clyde were found along the same stretch of highway between Fort Bragg and Westport CA. Both had been shot in the head. The remains of both were dumped on a beach. The two of them had been murdered during 1987.

Although Robert Sutton was deemed responsible by LE for Sutherland's death, he died before being tried. It was not established whether Sutton was responsible for Clyde's death.
