33-year-old Scotty W. Goodpaster, Jr. is missing, and authorities suspect foul play.
They're also looking for a white Chevy pickup.
The Sheriff's Office says 55-year-old Willie Earl Morris is a person of interest in the case.

Document: Man whose body was found in field was tortured

A court document released Monday says a woman was kidnapped, tortured and made to watch a 33-year-old man being tortured as well.

The affidavit filed by a Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office detective reveals Jeff Hillard was reported to 911 by his mother, after she saw him tackle Goodpaster in a driveway. The detective says Goodpaster was beaten by several suspects, then loaded into a pickup truck and driven to the home of Jeff Hillard's brother-in-law.

The brother-in-law reportedly refused to offer Jeff Hillard any assistance. He was arrested that evening when he returned to the crime scene.

Yes, those people are sick and horrific. I hope they never see the light of day.

That's truly horrific reading. And less than $200 was their motive? They can fry. All of them.

I talked to a couple of family members on Thanksgiving who are/were in LE. They both said that what was put in the affidavit was the bare minimum of what those people did to poor Scottie. I just cannot imagine the hell he went through.

The trial for three people charged with torturing and murdering Scottie W. Goodpaster Jr. at a Valley Center home on Nov. 6 has been continued again. It is set for Nov. 13.

On Sept. 25, a Sedgwick County District Court judge granted continuances for Heidi Hillard, Jeff Hillard and Willie Morris. A family member close to the case said he was told by a prosecutor in May that new evidence was potentially available and this could be the reason for the delay. The trial was originally set to begin in March.
