Details of Disappearance
Mr. Hawk was last seen when he became separated from his wife, Gladys, when they were passing through Kingman, Arizona. He walked away from their truck to relieve himself along I-40, 16 mile outside of Kingman on December 29, 1994.

A Department of Public Safety officer picked up a disoriented Paul Hawk, in the I-40 median about 20 miutes after he left the truck. He brought Hawk to Kingman and dropped him off at a motel. Hawk apparantly walked away after calling their son in Georgia and asking hom to come pick him up. He insisted to his son that he was in Georgia. When told he was in Arizona he hung up.

The retired Georgia residents were taking a trip to Laughlin, Nevada at the time. There were unconfirmed sightings of Hawk in the area, but he was never located.

Hawk, who would be 95 now, was traveling through Kingman with his wife Dec. 30, 1994, and “He stopped to go to the bathroom and never came back,” said Cooper. He was found later in the day and transported to a local hotel by law enforcement.

He may have gotten a ride to the Denny’s in Williams but it wasn’t confirmed, said Cooper. There may have been some dementia concerns with Hawk. Cooper said the KPD doesn’t think there was foul play involved.
