Jon is a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, balding blond hair clipped close. He has blue eyes behind glasses. He is slightly pop-eyed. He is pictured with a full but cropped beard and a heavy mustache. He was 45 years old when he vanished.
Jon's family reported him missing on 27June 1995. A search of Jon's property and vicinity in Covelo found his pickup truck stuck in mud near Chicken Ridge. LE investigation revealed that the truck had been noticed stuck there since January 1995. Jon was reportedly seen no more recently than December 1994.
Written between the lines in all this is the near-certainty that Jon was illicitly and secretively growing marijuana and was felled outside the law.
