This is really terrible. I hope they catch the person(s) responsible. It strikes me as odd that she is married and spending much of her time working in another town, possibly thinking of relocating. Do we know where her hubby worked, or what kind of career he has? I know long distance marriages can work, my husband and I were separated by a 10 hr drive for seven months. However, I wouldn't enjoy doing that again!

Gambling, drug charges filed after undercover surveillance at Cashmere
[…]
•Lydia Ivanditti, 61, same address, faces eight gambling charges – two felonies and six misdemeanors – and a misdemeanor charge for possession of marijuana. Bonds were set at $8,000 and she was released. […]
Ivanditti is the owner of Cashmere, a restaurant and lounge in the Village at Harmony Crossing; […]
The Georgia Lottery Commission oversees video poker games across the state. Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said Friday afternoon the search warrants and arrest warrants he was serving involved "violations of Georgia gambling laws related to cash payouts on amusement machines."
"Illicit drugs" were found at the restaurant when the warrants were served, Sills said.

Her husband, married for 20 years, last name is Scruggs. I wonder where Lydia's last name came from?

"The pride of her life was her daughter Julia. She raised Julia with her best friend and love, Steve Scruggs..."
"She is survived by her husband of 20 years, best friend and then life companion, Steve Scruggs of Atlanta."

Well, that makes everything in her personal life STRANGE! If they were married in '08, they had not been married NEAR long enough to have had a 20th anniversary! Maybe it's some kind of "new math" only available in Georgia.

Accord to obit Im kind of getting they've just been together that long in whatever form, does seem confusing though..............Were the charges dropped in the drug case? Did she move back to ATL after the charges and bonding out? Intersing her grandfather was RP, in searching him out Reynolds Plantation popped, lol, and some of her family is also a similar name to Reynolds accord to obit..............just interesting........She also had a career in Commercial RE, wonder what some of her endeavors might have been in the past...............except for the drug charges, just curious aobut anything that may have had some bearing on this case..........I do not, for the life of me, remember why she was brought up on the Dermond thread unless it was just like the Realtor who died so close to the Dermonds death and Lydia being brought up on drug charges................Two too many weird murders going on in the little town with only four deputies in putnam county..... what a criminals (...) dream.........Glad the GBI was brought in on this case atleast even if the Dermonds weren't good enough to.................praying both cases are solved............terrible way to go, she was painted as such a lovely person, not to say she wasn't, just seems so out of order just like the Dermond case if this is so, as they were painted in the same light.............JMO's!

Reynolds Plantation, isn't that part of the Ritz Carlton, Buckhead, Ga.? Very nice place.

Her husband, married for 20 years, last name is Scruggs. I wonder where Lydia's last name came from?

It appears that Dennis may have been her first husband or atleast "A" husband prior to Scruggs? According to the post "people who lived in the household"...........but I see the obit has daughter listed as a Scruggs, so who was Dennis Ivanditti and the "people who lived here (walnut st) had Lydia listed with his last name

I find it odd she was only back for a few weeks and was murdered, Did I read that right , now can't locate that article? But according to this one http://www.ajc.com/news/crime--law/...er-found-dead-bathtub/r6t2rTDLLu7F7BU8kyHCMK/ she has lived in Eatonton the past 4 years, if so that answers my question about where she has been, maybe a generalization on her homestead situation.?

“The city police have not discussed anything regarding this death nor have they nor anyone else requested my services or assistance in this matter,” Sills told The Union-Recorder via email. “It is my understanding that the city police have called in the GBI to investigate the matter.”

It sounds like this case is being handled very well so far.
If indeed she was murdered, I do so hope the person responsible is found and prosecuted. Have the Dermond killers gotten away with murder? So sad.

Its in putnam county, some may be in green county across the lake which would be Lake Oconee.

I dont know if it's horrible to say but if she was murdered and apparently the PCSO and GBI have evidence of suspicion of such and to have called in the GBI, (which yes so far seems like it is being handled well) then hoping the Dermonds and this one are connected somehow then maybe, MAYBE, there would be some clues ......it would be nice to solve them both. I remember her name and Cahsmere coming up on the Dermond thread the reason I mention it at all.......I am curious as to the drug charges, she bonded out on $8000?? was there a trial? anything? dropped? IDK..........and this could be drugs or just random I guess, but thinking as in the Dermonds case, A robber would just shoot them or just kill them and leave them, not necessarily drown them or behead somenoe, JMO and thoughts

I do not believe that this case and the Dermond case are related, but people have mentioned seeing a reference to the Cashmere club on the Dermond thread. Ironic. Here is the page where it was discussed:
http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...-Dermond-88-Putnam-County-2-May-2014-9/page24

Logically derived from sources available only, she was married to Mr. Scruggs for 20 years, then divorced but remained friends with him. During this marriage she had a daughter named Julia, her only child. In 2008, she married Mr. Ivanitti. They must have split, and she was in a relationship with an undesignated person.

Insight into the case was gained by reading the anonymous comments on the link below. Brutal comments, but maybe some truth there. One comment indicates that her business partner in the Cashmere was also her boyfriend. They did live at the same address. He does indeed have an extensive criminal record in Oklahoma.

Sounds like she was involved with the 'wrong' people. :(

Thanks.
I remember back in the 70's, Lake Oconee being built. We went to many baseball, football and hockey games when I was a kid via I-20.
I was fascinated with the lake and the dam.
