* * *Mrs. Routier states that the "intruder" left the house through the
garage. I also note that the screen on the garage was cut in a T Shape (this
is what the television show made mention of). Ok, there was a knife left in
the house. There is some speculation about another knife being used to cut
the screen on the garage, it was also in the house.. My questions are just
simple observations dealing with the knives in the house and the cut garage
screen..

* * *I will use "he" to indicate that the intruder was male, according to Mrs.
Routier's statement.

* * *What would the intruder have used to cut the screen with to make entry?
Not the knives in the house, because those knives were inside the house when
he was making entry.

* * *Ok, if he used his own knife, then why did'nt he use his own knife to
commit the murders with, instead of having to look around in the kitchen for
a knife? Why would an intruder come into a house with a knife, go into the
kitchen and get another knife, and then kill his two (2) victims, and attempt
to kill Mrs. Routier?

* * *If the intruder did not already have a knife when he came into the house,
how did he cut the screen on the garage?

Hi Rick,

Easy answer. There was no intruder

Hi, Rick. I agree with Dani. There was no intruder. Amazing the defense can even argue that one with a straight face.

Right on Dani! One sentence answers all the questions

Who you calling stupid ;)

Not you, Dani...never you. Cami introduced me to that phrase, and sometimes I just have the urge to use it. Especially when people get so caught up in the minutae of a case that they lose sight of the obvious.

No one is stupid, except maybe me for using the expression. Sorry about that :innocent:

Let me argue from a pro Darlie point (which I am not). The intruder just had a small pen knife to cut the window, when he got inside he looked for a larger weapon.

And, why then would the guy(s) use a kitchen knife from Darlie's butcher's block once the window was already cut?

Because his was just a tiny pen or swiss army knife, he needed a much bigger weapon.

To cut an already cut screen? There were fibers on the knife in the block.

Oh sorry I misunderstood your question. I wasn't including the pesky evidence of the bread knife, just addressing the question of why he didn't use his own knife to commit the murders.

That is okay, Desilu, neither do they most of the time.
