After investigating police say they can't contact the registered owner of the vehicle, 43-year-old Roy Tin Hou Lee.

The avid hiker is believed to have headed out on the mountain with Chun Sek Lam, 64.

I think I found a live Cam near where they went missing if I found the right place. This place is called Cypress Mountain and you have to do Control-R to refresh and the picture seems to refresh to be current.

The conditions look snowy and cloudy and not good at all for hiking.
I am not sure of why people like to go hiking in treacherous conditions. Maybe it wasnt bad the day they set out. It could be that the front just moved in on them.

It sounds like the place is beautiful but people do get lost there often as I found another couple articles where people have gotten lost. And this article link below the live cam link said that there have been 48 emergency calls already this year alone. Wow.

I hope they had supplies and can be found before anything bad happens to them. Prayers for them to be rescued or find their way out.

Searchers believe they have made voice contact with missing North Shore hikers

The yells came from the northeast area of Strachan Mountain, a remote area where crews rarely find missing or out-of-bounds people, said Danks.
He said rescue crews will be working throughout the day and into the night to get the men out. “If it takes us all night long, we won’t leave them,” he said.
Weather conditions are poor on the mountain. A helicopter is on standby waiting for a break in the weather so it could fly over the location the voices were coming from and attempt to establish visual contact, said Danks.

"There's somebody out there. It could be an out-of-bounds skier or it could be our subjects," Danks said. "We're looking into that at this time."

Danks said a field team that went out to find the source of the voice may have gone the wrong way and is now working to re-establish contact.

Extra search teams are entering the area, he said, but low clouds are hampering aerial efforts. The families of the men are being kept informed of the search status.

"Our next step is to re-establish that voice contact and determine where those guys are," Danks said. "If that is, in fact, our guys, we'll get them out whether it takes us all night."

updated this evening from:

The search for two snowshoers missing since Christmas Day is close to being called off for the night.

Many search and rescue crews were out in the field Tuesday, looking for Roy Tin Hou Lee, 43, and Chun Sek Lam, 64, who did not return from a snowshoeing hike on Cypress Mountain on Dec. 25.

On Tuesday afternoon, hope flared for the men’s safe return after crews believe they may have made voice contact with the pair in the area of Strachan Mountain.

But by night fall, rescuers have been unable to make visual contact or locate the men.

Two helicopters were dispatched for the day, including one using thermal imaging infrared cameras, but without success.

Guess it's going to be at least one more cold night for these fellas, but NSSAR was just on our local news saying they've heard yells in response to whistle blasts.

(It's just after 6:00 pm here in BC, and the article says updated at 8:39 pm today ... Vancouver Province must be using a different time zone. Go figure. I'm having to guess that the article was updated at 5:39 pm Pacific)

Danks said it is "very concerning" that the two missing snowshoers are going into their third night missing.

"The fact that they're together, there's two of them, that's a positive thing. They can keep each other warm, they can keep each other positive," Danks said.
"Our hopes are that they've made themselves a little bit of shelter and they're just keeping warm."

North Shore Rescue believes there's still hope for a pair of snowshoers who have been missing since Christmas Day, but the weather is not helping their efforts.

"I feel this is a really pivotal day for these guys so we're going to do everything we can," NSR team leader Mike Danks said.

Crews also have now managed to narrow down a search area, on the north side of Strachan Mountain.

"We've had tips come in from hikers who were in the area on Christmas Day saying they had seen two Asian males snowshoeing on the Howe Sound Crest Trail,"

North Shore Rescue have been pretty busy these last few days, this young fellow was very lucky to be rescued!

Snowboarder rescued after spending night at Cypress
North Shore Rescue volunteers have successfully completed a long line rescue of a missing snowboarder off the Howe Sound Crest Trail Tuesday morning.
Arslan Zhunus spent a cold night on a slope near Cypress Mountain Ski Resort before rescuers could reach him.
"They [North Shore Rescue volunteers] literally saved my life — I don't know where I'd be right now," said Zhunus.
"I'm just really ashamed I got cocky on the mountain — that's one thing that you should never do."
"So I built a shelter under the pine tree with branches....it was surprisingly warm," he said.

Oh God that's terrible :(

Praying the two somehow cling on and can still be found.

North Shore Rescue (NSR) crews spent Friday searching the area around Mt. Strachan near Cypress Mountain for two missing hikers who departed Christmas Day and have not been heard from since.

But crews arrived back at base in a somber mood Friday evening after making the tough decision to call off the search after five days...

Despite using the FLIR infrared camera, having two helicopters and 20 volunteer rescuers, no trace of the men was found.

Cannot seem to find an update on this case, but noting this recent news from BC about an apparently, life-saving back pack.
