Marten van Harten disappeared on 14 December 1988 as a pilot of a small airplane (2 person airplane) from Zero Beach Florida (Doe Network lists Vero Beach). His destination was unknown and nothing was heard from him since.

Name: Marten van Harten
DoB: 19 December 1956 (currently 60 years old)
Last heard from: 14 December 1988 (age 31)
Length: 191 cm (6 foot 3 inches)
Blonde haired and Blue eyed white male.

Listed at the missing persons from the Dutch police: https://www.politie.nl/en/wanted-and-missing/missing-adults/1988/december/01-marten-van-harten.html

My remarks:
Further details are scarce, couldn't find much if anything in Dutch newspapers. It seems to me that a plane might not go unnoticed that easy (except for in the ocean) and even then some parts might have washed ashore somewhere. I'm curious if any information from Florida authorities are available on this case, for example details of the plane.

Zero Beach is exactly what I’ve always called it. There was zero to do there, which is why it was called that. My ex and lots of his family are from Vero Beach.

There had to have been flight info recorded at the time. Who owned the plane? What hangar was it stored in? Who was the mechanic?

He was a pilot and hired an airplane (for 2 persons) and left Vero Beach, Florida. He never returned and nothing has been heard of since.
