The Daily Corinthian (http://bit.ly/2iRRsgl) reports that the sheriff's department received a call Wednesday when a dog brought human remains into a yard.
http://www.therepublic.com/2017/01/07/ms-remains-found/Sheriff Ben Caldwell says additional searches, including one with cadaver dogs, found no other remains.
The remains were turned over to the coroner and are to be examined at the state crime lab. The sheriff says investigators hope the lab will be able to determine the identity and cause of death.
Caldwell says investigators are examining all possibilities, including missing person cases.
We dont know if its male, female, young, old, said Caldwell. We dont know for sure if it was foul play or natural causes. Were hoping that once we get results from the crime lab, we may be able to determine identity and cause of death.
With the only certainty being that the remains are human, investigators are looking at all possibilities, including missing persons cases.
