GUILTY OK - Brennon Davis, 15, body found burned, Wagoner County, 11 Jan 2017

Homicide detectives have launched an investigation after a burned body was found in the Jackson Bay area on the southwest edge of Fort Gibson Lake, Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott said Thursday.

Deputy Nick Mahoney said officials were unable to determine even the gender of the person whose body was discovered just before 10 p.m. Wednesday...

Whether the person was slain at the scene or if the body was transported there and then set on fire is unknown, Elliott said...

"This particular area was not in a camping area. It was off the beaten path," he said.

A person of interest has been arrested as authorities continue to investigate what happened to a 15-year-old boy found on fire in Wagoner County.

Deputies arrested Josh Herrington for obstruction of justice Sunday morning.

Sheriff Chris Elliott has identified Cody Thompson as a second person of interest in the case.

Sheriff Elliott also confirmed that Davis was shot multiple times before being burned.

Thompson has been contacted by investigators, and the investigation is ongoing. Neither Thompson nor Harrington is considered a suspect in Davis' homicide but rather are people whom investigators believe have information that could lead to an arrest in the case, Mahoney said.

Cody Austin Thompson, 23, of Okay was booked into the Wagoner County Detention Center for a December 2016 case in which a mobile home was set on fire in Okay...

However, he does remain a person of interest in Davis' death, Mahoney said...

Mahoney said investigators are waiting for ballistic results, more information from the medical examiner's office and some DNA evidence.

Just one week after the brutal murder of 15 year-old Brennon Davis and no suspects have been named, but two men are being questioned.

"Right now they are the only two people of interest and we'll work towards that until we either can find a suspect or name someone as a suspect,” said Wagoner County Sheriff Deputy Nick Mahoney.

A pair of Okay men were charged with first-degree murder Wednesday in the death of 15-year-old Brennon Davis, whose burning body was found last month near Fort Gibson Lake.

Joshua Glyn Herrington and Cody Austin Thompson are accused of shooting Davis, also of Okay, and then setting his body on fire...

Both defendants remain in the Wagoner County Jail.
