A body was found near Bristolville. There is no ID yet, but I will be shocked if this isn't Alan. Everything fits. 

I agree, this seems likely to be Alan. From another article:

Monroe said investigators believe that the remains have been there about 11 months. Even the clothes were decomposed.

The remains are believed to belong to a male, but the coroner will make the ultimate determination.

The coroner will also rule on the cause of death.

Right now, investigators are looking at missing-persons cases from around that time frame to try to link them to the case.

Alan is the only missing persons case from that area and that time frame, AFAIK.

Deputies with the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office were called just after 3 p.m. Monday to 2089 Mahan Denman Road by Alan T. Dulka, who told police his children found a skull with a possible bullet hole, according to a police report.

The teen was reported missing again Jan. 3 by the older Dulka after he learned the boy did not attend school the same day, the report filed Jan. 3 states.

The report also states the teen’s mother died on Christmas Day 2016 and his wallet and identification were found at home. A cellphone he was carrying was last tracked to Perrysburg on Jan. 1, 2017, the report states.

Trumbull County Sheriff Paul Monroe said Wednesday that his office spent Monday and Tuesday at the scene treating the discovery as a homicide and gathering remains that had been dragged away by animals.

Investigators from the Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted on the second day with metal detectors to ensure nothing was left behind. Police also found a handgun and a shell casing, according to a police report.
