Lancaster District Attorney will seek the death penalty in murder of Lancaster brothers
The Lancaster County District Attorney’s office has announced that they will seek the death penalty for the murder of two brothers in February.

Assistant District Attorney Christine L. Wilson filed notices to seek the death penalty against Joshua Proper, 18 and Juan Cristo-Munoz, also 18. Both men are charged two counts of homicide and robbery for the murder of two elderly Lancaster brothers in their Poplar Street home back on February 19th.

Lancaster man who used sword in brutal double murder last year pleads guilty, gets consecutive life sentences

Juan Cristo-Munoz pleaded guilty on Wednesday to two counts of first-degree murder and related charges regarding the brutal home-invasion at 627 Poplar St. on Feb. 19, 2017.

Cristo-Munoz was sentenced Wednesday to consecutive life terms in prison.

Lancaster County Judge David Ashworth accepted the plea and ordered sentence. The judge said he was “at a loss for words at how one human being could do this to another,” according to a statement issued Wednesday by the district attorney’s office.

“It is truly a heinous crime,” Richard Walton’s son, Alan Walton, said in court. “I don’t understand why someone would willingly do it, especially to two people who were obviously disabled and would have extreme trouble defending themselves.”

Joshua Proper is awaiting trial.
