Amber Alert issued for three-year-old boy

Tucson Police have issued an Amber Alert for a three-year-old boy who was allegedly abducted.
According to the alert, which was issued late Monday night, the boy is identified as Jonas Mejia. He is described as three feet tall, weighing 50 lbs, with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was reportedly last seen wearing blue jeans, blue long-sleeve shirt with a football logo in front, and blue tennis shoes.

Police are looking for three-year-old Jonas Mejia. The vehicle is describe as a 2008 Light Blue Ford Focus. The license plate number is BZL 5110.

The suspect is described as a man between the ages of 40-50, six feet tall, wide build, wearing a black cloth jacket, black pants, and a black hat. He may smell like beer.

Police allege the man assaulted the woman before forcing her into the vehicle. At some point, the man slowed the vehicle down and the woman was able to escape. However, the child remained in the back seat.

Police said the man made a threat to harm the child.

Update from TPD ~ Jonas Mejia has been found safe with the car in the 4400 block of E.Water St. Suspect still outstanding.
