Don't you hate this Spring Forward stuff?

I don't get enough sleep as it is now and every year I lose an hour. Yes, we gain it back in the fall but I am dealing the reality now of losing an hour's sleep. Thinking about the fall and Fall Back makes my head hurt. It just does and I don't know why.

Where was I?

Oh yes, WHY DO WE SPRING FORWARD?????

According to the article, studies suggest that Daylight Savings Time:

*Saves Energy
*Saves Lives
*Reduces Crime

Yeah but I hate it and it needs to change.

By the way, the article talks about California but later in the article, it gives a good explanation about all this daylight saving stuff.

Makes me grumpy.

Love and kisses,

Tricia

Here is a different perspective on DST:

A number of studies have shown the ill effects of going back and forth with the clock and thus your Circadian rhythm and sleep cycle twice a year such as:

  • Depressive episodes
  • Cluster headaches
  • Workplace injuries
  • Suicides
  • Sleep problems
  • Heart attacks
  • Fatal car accidents

“It’s really time to end this archaic practice of springing forward,” said Rep. Jason Isaac, R-Dripping Springs.

And he has a plan. Isaac filed legislation to exempt Texas from daylight saving time...“Because there should only be 24 hours in a day,” Isaac said...

I am extremely aware of "clock time" and don't need an alarm clock to wake me up on time, even if I have a flight to catch at 6:30 a.m. In my sleep, I know almost to the minute what time it is.

This drives me crazy. :(

I have to agree with those who wish to do away with DST .
Lets face it, it was a good idea a very long time ago but doesn't serve a great purpose now.( IMO only)
I'd love to hear from people who want DST to stay and why they think it's important?

This is the one thing I miss about living in Arizona:

No daylight savings time clock changes. Only exception is Navajo Nation.

I believe Hawaii does not observe DST either.

I miss Arizona.

Does anyone want this time change anymore? It seems like we do it because....well....because we do.

Time to end this practice.

I have never heard anyone say they like the change. I wish we would spring forward and stay there. I grew up on eastern time. I like the longer daylight in the evening that we don't have in central time. That is why I would like for us to spring forward and stay.

I like the longer days but yea I'm pretty freakin bushed lol

Here is another member of the "I hate the time changes" club. Bah humbug!

I grew up in PA and complained about it for years! My mom still hates it. Thankfully, Arizona is a little more humane and doesn't do DST.

I love the longer evenings and having more daylight after work to do things outside.

It was Jonhnson's bow down to the environmentalists. Reasons were presented but never lived up to their billing. It took an act of Congress to make it happen and will require another to do away with it.

It has been altered as to start and end dates nationally and individual states have previously made changes.
