Deputies said Carmona then stole his mother's car and picked up his half-sister at her day care center. By that time, the sheriff's office was searching for the car and found Carmona by Monday evening. He was arrested without incident. […]

Carmona had already left their shared home in his mother's white Nissan Sentra, picked up his younger half-sister from day care, and then met an unidentified witness in Providence Park.
He told that person he "killed somebody and he was going to prison for a long time," deputies wrote. He was also contemplating killing himself.
When deputies spotted the Nissan, Carmona got out of the car and threw himself to the ground, deputies said.

Sheriff: Riverview son, 18, thought of killing mother, then did on her birthday
[Last modified: Tuesday, March 21, 2017 5:01pm]
RIVERVIEW — An 18-year-old voted "Most Likely to Succeed" last year at Jefferson High School told sheriff's investigators he had long thought about killing his mother.
When he woke up Monday, her 39th birthday, he resolved to finally do it, investigators said.
Joshua Leon Carmona beat Tahirih Lua D'Angelo with a baseball bat and stabbed her in the neck with a butcher knife, killing her, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrest report.
[…]
Carmona was arrested four months ago in connection with a violent car theft in Pennsylvania. He withdrew from college in New York afterward to get his life together and moved in with his mother and stepfather, D'Angelo said. His mother put her own education on hold to help him and he was getting weekly counseling.
"We were told he was making progress," D'Angelo said. "She was Josh's rock. She was a very loving mom and supportive of both her children. She was concerned with Josh getting on the right path."
Carmona graduated in the top 5 percent of his class last spring from Jefferson High, where the 2016 yearbook shows he was voted "Most Likely to Succeed" and "Most Likely to Become President." He then enrolled at Fordham, the Jesuit university in New York City.
[…]
"We are devastated by this," D'Angelo said. "We're all just numb right now. We don't understand why he did this."
More than anything, he said, he does not want his daughter-in-law to be remembered as a murder victim.
"I don't want this to be her legacy. She was so much more than that."

Riverview man accused of killing his mother has first court appearance
[Last modified: Wednesday, March 22, 2017 11:23am]
TAMPA — A Riverview man accused of plotting to kill his mother and carrying out the plan on her birthday had his first appearance in court Wednesday.
Joshua Carmona, 18, appeared in Hillsborough Circuit Court by video link from the Falkenburg Jail. Judge Margaret Taylor set a bond hearing for Monday. Meantime, Taylor told Carmona, he would be held without bail on a first-degree murder charge.

No one could understand how Norman Bates would want to kill his mother either. Things aren't always what they seem. May they both find peace regardless. I feel the most for the young girl.

:bump: up this thread - found a article dated June 1, 2017:

Tampa man, accused of killing his mother, appears in court
http://www.fox13news.com/news/local-news/258343753-story

Detectives say he then stole his mother's credit cards and cell phone and headed to Brandon Mall. Documents show there he bought pot and spice from a drug dealer.
He then used his mother's cell phone and even pretended to be her, by answering texts she received, investigators say.

Carmona later told detectives he threw his and his mother's cell phones in the parking lot of the mall and then went for a joyride for hours.

Of course the article doesn't say "when" he'll be back in court....

Will keep looking, if no one here comes up with something!

Just going thru my thread of "Arrested-Awaiting Trials" folder and found an update on this one!

Article from July 22, 2017:

Man once voted 'most likely to succeed' now accused of killing mom
http://wspa.com/2017/07/22/man-once-voted-most-likely-to-succeed-now-accused-of-killing-mom/

.....In March, Carmona was accused of brutally killing his mother in their Riverview home on her birthday.
New documents released in the case show a medical examiner’s report that found Tahirih Lua D’Angelo, 39, was hit five times in the face and head and then soon after she died, her throat was cut deeply with a knife.
Carmona, 18, later confessed to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office detectives that he had killed his mother.

And of course - no date for next hearing.... :gaah:

If anyone finds one - TIA!
