Hudson cold case investigation continues

On September 30, 2000, the New York State Police responded to the shoreline of the Hudson River, south of the City of Hudson.

Two duck hunters discovered a body on the east shoreline of the river in a secluded by accessible area at a boat launch off of Hallenbeck Road in Greenport. The victim, identified as Jacqueline McCalop, had died as a result of stab wounds to her torso.

McAlop’s death continues to be actively investigated by police. Numerous leads have been followed-up on throughout this investigation; however, this homicide has never been solved.

Police believe that someone in the City of Hudson has information that could lead to an arrest.

Two duck hunters discovered Jacqueline McCalop on the east shoreline of the Hudson River near the city of Hudson on September 30. McCalop, of Catskill, had not been seen since September 14.

She died as a result of multiple stab wounds to her torso.

State police ask for help in 2000 cold case

"An investigation revealed that her family had not seen her since Sept. 14, 2000 and had reported her missing on Sept. 24.

McCalop was described as a black, 5-foot-5, weighing around 110 pounds. Troopers say they are still following numerous leads and believe that someone in Hudson has information that could lead to an arrest.
