Tracy Kundinger was about 500 metres from her home on the night of August 20, 1975. She was on her way back from a late shift as a lifeguard and would have been home in five minutes. Tracy, 18, never made it home. She was attacked and eventually strangled to death in the shadows of Simonston Park.
Just an hour before, at 10 p.m., Tracy clocked out from the Ottawa Indoor Pool on Parliament Street in Toronto. She joined a group of friends and walked to Castle Frank subway station, where she boarded an eastbound train. Eventually, Tracy took a Toronto Transit Commision bus on the 25 Don Mills Northbound route and exited at Steeles Avenue around 11 p.m.
The only other passenger, a young man with sandy hair and wearing a white denim jacket with jeans, exited at the same stop. He was seen walking in the same direction, but he has never been identified.
