Rutherford police seek information on missing 17-year-old Devin Bond

On Friday morning, Bond's younger brother, 9, told their mom around 10 a.m. that Bond*placed pillows and towels under a blanket to appear like he was sleeping at their home in Armor Place, a police release said.

Search continues for missing Rutherford County teen

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WZTV) — Searched are continuing for a Rutherford County teenager now missing for five days.
Devin Bond, 16, of Armor Place in Murfreesboro, was reported missing Friday afternoon. Bond has not been seen since he went to bed on Thursday night.

The Sheriff's Office, Murfreesboro Police K9s and the Tennessee Highway Patrol's helicopter have all coordinated efforts in the search for Bond.
Lisa Marchesoni, RCSO Public Information Officer, said the department takes this case"very seriously."

Mom of missing teen wants son to 'just come home'

“I’m concerned he thinks he’s in trouble and maybe that’s why he’s still out there. … But I don’t want him to be scared or afraid he’s in trouble. I just want him to come home,” said his mother, Heather Simmers-Bond.

“We started getting concerned because he was not with anybody we would normally know him to be with,” Simmers-Bond said.

The mother said she does not believe her son was abducted.

The mother said her son likely left “upset” after he and his girlfriend broke up. But she said she thought he would return by now.

“It’s just not like him (to be gone),” Simmers-Bond said. “He’s a good kid. He doesn’t do stuff like this. He hangs out with a couple of friends sometimes. He plays video games. He’s usually a homebody.”

I'm really concerned about this young man, especially after reading about the breakup with his gf.

I'm 30 minutes from Murfreesboro and I guess because of E.T. and Tad Cummings I have not heard anything about this young man on local news. Thank goodness for Websleuths

Just seeing this....I am really concerned for him. Its hard being 16 and breaking up with your girlfriend.

I've seen SM posts about going to look for him on 4 wheelers this weekend. Hoping they have him by then. I do think its curious there is nothing other than a Hudl page for him. No FB, Instagram, twitter. Im curious if he ever had SM and now its deleted? Or?

He's not mentioned on mom's either that I could find except the missing posters. It seems he has 2 brothers but no pictures of him at all....of course my son is 16 and thinks SM is ridiculous and you will barely find his pictures on mine because he asked me not to. So maybe that's why?

My own son is 16 and he has FB, instagram, twitter, snapchat, etc. As do all his friends. Not seeing anything for Devin makes me wonder if he does use SM but not with his actual name.

the use of SM at that age can be unpredictable. my dd 18 only has IG and ds 15 isn't on any standard platform. and then, like Ontario Mom said, some kids have spam accounts.
i feel terrible for his parents. hopefully he will contact them soon.

Help search for missing teen on Thursday and Friday

One local father has organized two days of search parties in hopes of finding Riverdale High School freshman Devin Bond, who was reported missing by his family on March 31.

“It’s been six days. … People are wanting to help but they don’t know what to do,” said Brent Seabaugh, a distant relative of the Bond family who is organizing the search parties. “(Searching for the teen) is the right thing to do.”

He is asking community members to meet in the parking lot of Walmart on Joe B. Jackson Parkway at 8 a.m. Thursday and Friday.

Members of the Murfreesboro Cold Patrol will be joining the group search on Thursday and Friday.

Search continues for 16-year-old Rutherford County boy

Bond's family is asking volunteers to meet at the Walmart off Joe B. Jackson Parkway at 8 a.m. Friday to join a search party.

There were reports that Bond may have been in nearby Barfield Crescent Park Saturday, which stretches more than 400 acres.*

I live about 45 minutes from this area. Not hearing much about this missing young man. I pray they find him alive and well and what ever made him take off can be worked out. Life is so heavy for so many of our teens.

Hey! I live in the area where Devin's phone was last pinged. Devin's been missing for 8 days. The police department hasn't been very active in looking for him. And they will not issue an Amber alert, which is ridiculous! One of Devin's distant cousins planned a search group and for the past 2 days they have searched the areas of interest. What we need is a larger search group and k9 dogs..etc... Please pray for Devin and his family. Thank You!

they can not issue an amber alert unless they have a description for the car that abducted him. as far as i can tell no one saw his abduction so not issuing an AA is normal.
