Choate Rosemary Hall Acknowledges Years of Sexual Abuse: Report

The report says that in some cases, the accused faculty member was allowed "to remain at the school ... for a considerable length of time"

Choate Rosemary Hall, the elite boarding school in Wallingford, Connecticut, released a report Thursday detailing decades of alleged sexual abuse of students that went unreported or was handled quietly.*

At least 12 former faculty members at the Wallingford school allegedly abused students between 1963 and 2010, according to the 48-page report by an outside investigator hired by Choate's board of trustees...

Choate Failed to Report Sexual Misconduct to Authorities for Decades: Report

by Kalhan Rosenblatt

An elite Connecticut boarding school failed to report years of sexual misconduct between teachers and students to the Department of Children and Families — despite a legal obligation to do so — a new report says.

Choate Rosemary Hall, which boasts alumni such as Ivanka Trump, John F. Kennedy, and Michael Douglas, released the report following an internal investigation, publicly revealing allegations of sexual misconduct as far back as the early 1960s — before The Choate School, and Rosemary Hall merged.

No current teachers or students are implicated in the report...

That report is awful. Very similar to the churches response - allowed to finish their career, retire early or even given letters of recommendation for new jobs. Disgraceful. One of the offenders whom witnesses SAW anally raping a young girl quit immediately yet no charges filed and he continued to have career success in various CT school admin positions. He resigned from his current position recently, I'm sure as he knew this was about to break. http://www.courant.com/news/connect...-abuse-prinicpal-resigned-20170414-story.html

This is just the tip of the iceberg. I suspect this happens more often at elite boarding schools.

I will never, EVER understand those who do not put the welfare of our children first.
I can not comprehend how ANY one can go on about life knowing evil like this is going on...and do nothing. Say nothing.
NO explanation comes close to being almost a little bit logical.
