Amber Alert issued for two missing Portsmouth children

Virginia State Police have issued an Amber Alert for two children who police say were abducted by their mother Friday in Portsmouth.

They may be traveling in a black Jeep, possibly a Patriot, with an unknown license plate.

Police say 24-year-old Asia Jarvis is a black female who stands about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a blue night robe, green tights and an oversized shirt.

Dominique Jarvis is a five-year-old black male with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue and red shirt and pajama pants.

Messiah Jarvis is a one-year-old black male who has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing yellow and black pants and a white t-shirt.

AMBER ALERT: Children abducted by mother who threatened to kill them

Police are searching for two children that have allegedly been abducted by their mother, who has made threats to kill them both.

The Special Victims Unit are asking for the public's help locating 5-year-old Dominique Jarvis and 1 1/2 year old Messiah Jarvis.

The two children were last seen in the 1100 block of Carrington Crescent by their father early Friday morning.

The father has custody of the two children, he received a message from their mother that caused him to worry and contact police. Their initial investigation led them to believe that the children will remain in immediate danger if they are with their mother Asia Jarvis.

I shared the Facebook info and asked people to care and share. These two young children are hopefully still alive and will hopefully be found safe.

I swear I read somewhere in the past hour or so that the mother threatened to shoot the kids if he didn't give her money.

The father, who has custody of the children, then received a message from the mother, Asia Jarvis, which caused concern. He contacted police. The Amber Alert issued for the children says Asia Jarvis claimed she would shoot the children if the father did not give her money.

UPDATE: Officials say that the mother and children are NOT traveling in a black Jeep, as they previously believed.

The Amber alert I received, on my phone, stated that the mother would kill the children if the father did not give her money. I'm sorry I don't have a link since it was from my phone.

Children found safe!

An AMBER Alert was issued for two children after police believed they were taken by their birth mother. Police said the children had been dropped off at a friends house and they are safe. This was reported around 12 a.m.
