Linda Reategui, originally from Peru, was last seen at her residence. Neighbors reported a disturbance in Reategui's apartment. The day after the disturbance, witnesses saw two middle-aged women, both in their fifties, arrive in a white sport utility vehicle (SUV) to clean the apartment where Reategui and Neciosup had been living. The women took several items with them in their vehicle when they left the apartment. It is unclear what, if anything, the women have to do with Reategui's disappearance. They have never been identified. Apartment officials, however, told detectives the women were not part of the usual cleaning crew. A glass company worker also arrived that day to fix a broken window in the unit. (((Who hired these workers - both the cleaning people and the window repair person? Normally, maintenance from the apartments will repair the windows...)))
Reategui had been living with her boyfriend Juan Rafael Neciosup, 34 prior to her disappearance. Neciosup, also a Peruvian citizen, told the detectives he
had broken off his relationship with Reategui and knew nothing of her plans except she intended to return to Peru. He moved to the 4400 block of Bramdemere Street afterwards. Shortly after the interviews and a year to the week since Reategui was last seen, he disappeared as well. He is still missing.
Detectives would also like to question the father of Reategui's daughter. Police declined to identify him, but said he was a person of some importance in Peru. About 6 years before her disappearance the father of Reategui's daughter said he was taking her to Disneyland and never brought her back. After several years, Reategui learned her daughter was living in Houston with the father's sister. She got paperwork from Houston stating that the sister wanted to adopt the girl. Reategui immediately came to Houston to fight the adoption and contacted the Peruvian consulate hoping for help in her legal battle.
