Prince Investigation: Warrants Detail Pills Found All Over Paisley Park

by Tracy Connor

Search warrants from the investigation into Prince's overdose death were released on Monday, revealing that prescription medications were found all over his house — including some in the name of a confidant who claimed he didn't know the singer was addicted to pain pills.

The court documents detail investigators' efforts to obtain cellphone and Internet records after Prince was found dead April 21 at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota...

Concerts, dance parties, memorabilia displays planned in tribute

At Paisley Park, which has been turned into a museum, a full four days of events are on tap, ranging from concert performances by Prince's former bandmates to panel discussions. Fans who can't afford those high-priced tickets can head to a street party outside First Avenue, the club he made world famous in Purple Rain. And the Minnesota History Center is staging a special exhibit of Prince memorabilia, including his iconic Purple Rain suit.

Investigative sources told reporter Beth McDonough that Prince may have thought he was taking a legitimate painkiller, like hydrocodone or fentanyl, that unknowingly also had U-47700 in it. *

Because U-47700 is not considered a controlled substance by state or federal agents, it's not regulated. *The Drug Enforcement Administrations says it tends to be produced overseas in China or Eastern Europe. *It's widely available, easily accessible and affordable, about $40 online. *

In August 2007, Prince began the first of 21 sellout nights at London’s 02 arena, a record-breaking run of sexy, swaggering, intensely purple shows that have gone down in the annals of musical history.

It seems fitting that the first exhibition celebrating the life, music and wardrobe of the singer who died in April last year is being held in the very same London venue.

The show, My Name Is Prince, showcases hundreds of items from Paisley Park, the compound that the performer built in Minnesota where he lived, recorded music and played live shows. The exhibition is set against a deep purple backdrop throughout – the colour most famously associated with Prince Rogers Nelson. It takes viewers through the various transformations – and accompanying outfits – that characterised his ever-evolving style, from the 1980s Purple Rain phase, through to Sign of the Times, his Lovesexy and Dirty Minds tours, Third Eye Girl and many more.

More at link, plus a few photos. The show runs through 7 January.

Makes me want to hop on a plane.......

Doctor has reached a settlement with the county to avoid prosecution.

The Minnesota physician who saw Prince twice in the weeks before the artist's death agreed to pay $30,000 to the US to settle allegations that he prescribed drugs to someone else knowing that Prince would take them.

Carver County attorney Mark Metz said the recording artist Prince died from an accidental fentanyl overdose after he took counterfeit pills containing the powerful painkiller.
"Prince had no idea he was taking a counterfeit pill that could kill him," Metz said.
There is no evidence showing how he obtained that counterfeit pill, he said. Because of that, there will be no criminal charges filed in the case, he said.

MINNEAPOLIS — Prince's heirs have sued Walgreens and the Illinois hospital that treated the music superstar after he suffered from an opioid overdose, alleging that a doctor and various pharmacists failed to provide Prince with reasonable care, contributing to his death.
