. . .

The deputy went to a home about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday on an eviction notice at a home in Mulhall. The shooter reportedly stole the deputy's patrol pickup and drove to just west of Langston where another car was stolen at gunpoint at Smitty's One Stop, a convenience store, at State Highway 33 and Henney Road.

. . .

The deputy was flown by helicopter to OU Medical Center. The car stolen from the convenience store was located Tuesday morning near Jaxton Road and County Road 77, and Leforce may have been on foot.

What a freaking loser! Unbelievable! It's people like this fool who get innocent people killed by police. It sucks, but I can understand why they get jumpy in different situations. Cops never know what they are walking into.

May this deputy rest, and may his family find some peace. What an evil person.

The jury is now deliberating in the case of the man accused in the murder of a Logan County deputy.

Nathan LeForce, 47, is on trial for shooting and killing Logan County Deputy David Wade in April 2017.

The jury heard from several witnesses throughout the emotional trial.

And at one point, had to watch the horrifying day Deputy Wade was gunned down.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for LeForce.

Man sentenced to life in shooting death of Oklahoma deputy

Aug 30, 2019

"A man convicted of fatally shooting an Oklahoma sheriff's deputy was sentenced to life in prison after the jury couldn't agree on whether he should be sentenced to death.

District Judge Phillip Corley sentenced Nathan LeForce on Thursday, ending the four-week trial. LeForce, who was convicted of first-degree murder, will not be eligible for parole....

Among those who testified during the sentencing phase were members of Wade's family and 28 witnesses for the defense, including LeForce's mother and children and a forensic psychologist who talked about LeForce's drug use and traumatic experiences as a youth.

Corley imposed the life sentence after jurors informed him they were deadlocked after deliberating for about six hours, according to court records.

Oklahoma is among 22 states that require an automatic life sentence if a jury can't reach a unanimous sentencing verdict in a death penalty case, according to the Death Penalty Information Center...."
