A missing teen's body was found in the Arizona desert Friday and the circumstances appear suspicious.

Tucson police have confirmed the body, found in a desert area, is 13-year old Jayden Glomb.

Right now Tucson police are investigating Jayden’s death as a homicide.

Parents issue a statement; school sent a letter to all parents, also. Part of the video here shows Jayden laughing and having fun, made by a friend.

Small groups of students were writing notes, working with clay or sand, hugging puppies, or just talking

When a body found in the desert was identified as an Old Vail Middle School student, school officials mobilized.
Extra counselors were on campus. Therapy dogs were brought in. Teachers were reminded about the best ways to share this news to their students. The crisis team met with students in the library.
Classmates of Jayden Glomb, a seventh-grader at the school, looked at pictures, talked and grieved.
Staff members walked students home after school.

Thanks for starting the thread, Spellbound, and thanks for the Breaking News article, galiuro.

Oh, another pretty young girl gone, and another family in ruins.

Four days have passed since the discovery and Tucson Police are remaining tight lipped about the investigation. Jayden's autopsy has been completed but the coroner said the cause of death is still pending for test results.
As the memorial for Jayden continues to grow along Steve Street, the lack of answers has left those in the Vail community uneasy.
“The kids in the neighborhood are scared,” neighbor, Lindsay Barry said.

The suspicious death of a popular, bright-eyed Vail Middle school student, Jayden Glomb, has many parents in the tight-knit Vail community now taking extra precautions with their children. Barry started a caravan to keep the neighborhood kids from walking alone.

With no information yet at this point, and due to the fact that she went missing from her home, my first thought is possibly met someone online; unfortunately, this is a new common direction in many cases which has opened itself up due to the advancement of technology and social media, moo.

Of course anytime I see a case out of Arizona, and especially a body found in the desert, I think of Adrienne Salinas, and that her case is still unsolved. (Not saying there is a relation here.)

Possibly shades of Nicole Lovell?

Did Jayden have any disabilities or mental health issues?

I'm getting a younger vibe about her... could be related to a disability, mental health or simply more naive / immature than her peers?

I could be totally off but I'm getting some sort of a younger vibe from her.

Is anyone available to please help with a map shot? Tia.

Essentially, the middle of nowhere. :( Poor girl.

Oh, what if it was a meeting arranged online? Someone from anywhere, possibly leaving no real clues. That she apparently left home after she had told her folks something like, "'Goodnight, I'm going to bed," kind of makes me think that. It happens, as we know, and the ending is never good. I hope LE looking at that angle is high on their list. Will LE/Medical Examiner publish the cause and manner of death any time soon?

I kind of have the same feeling as msphilosopher -- that she is a "young" and trusting middle-schooler.
