Amber Marie Whitmer was last seen by her mother Karen Whitmer in May 2016. She usually would check in at least once every three months.

Amber Marie Whitmer is a 31-year-old, white female with with brown hair. She’s about 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.

Her mother said she has tried to report her as a missing person in the past but police reports weren’t taken. A Springfield Police information desk officer answered a call about Amber Whitmer, Meyer said. That officer asked other officers if they had seen Amber Whitmer. One officer was familiar with her and stated he just seen her near Selma Road and York Street. "York is a known prostitution area in the city,” police said. Amber Whitmer has been charged in the past with solicitation. Her mother said she would go to York Street early in the morning and late at night, before and after work, to see if her daughter was there but she never found Amber Whitmer.

A missing person report was filled with the police division on May 9 and police have opened an investigation into her disappearance.

The last time she was known to contact anyone was in June 2016 when she sent a picture to a friend, police said.

Springfield is about an hour from Chillicothe. One of her FB said Circleville is her hometown. Circleville is about 15 minutes from Chillicothe :thinking:

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) - The number of women disappearing without a trace continues to grow in Middletown and surrounding areas. Six women are now missing within a 35-mile radius.

The missing women include Brandy English who was last seen last year in May. Amber Whitmer is from Springfield and went missing a month later in June. Amber Flack disappeared last year in September. Melinda Miller went missing in February. Michelle Burgan was last seen in May. Last month, Chelsey Coe was reported missing from Miamisburg.

Law enforcement officials are on the scene in Miamisburg searching for evidence in connection to another woman who went missing in September 2017.

Six women have been reported as missing within a 35-mile radius.

The missing women include Brandy English who was last seen last year in May. Amber Whitmer is from Springfield and went missing a month later in June. Amber Flack disappeared last year in September. Melinda Miller went missing in February. Michelle Burgan was last seen in May. In September, Coe was reported missing from Miamisburg.

A year later, family of missing Middletown woman still searching for answers

The six missing women are:
  • Brandy English, 41, of Middletown was last seen in May 2016. She was friends with another woman who went missing, Lindsay Bogan, 30. Bogan's remains were found in July 2016 on a Madison Township farm. She was identified through dental records.
  • Amber Whitmer, 30, of Springfield went missing a month later, in June 2016.
  • Amber Flack, 30, of Middletown disappeared in September 2017.
  • Melinda Miller, 47, of Middletown vanished in February 2017.
  • Michelle Burgan, 47, of Middletown was last seen in May 2017.
  • In September, Chelsey Coe was reported missing from Miamisburg.
 
On Tuesday, officials announced that DNA analysis confirmed remains found in Moraine in September are those of a Middletown woman who disappeared in May 2017.

Authorities found 47-year-old Michelle Burgan’s remains after police were informed she may have been with a Moraine man around the time of her disappearance.

Police said they arrested 57-year-old Gilbert Revere. Revere was indicted in September on two counts of tampering with evidence, one count of gross abuse of a corpse, and one count of failure to report knowledge of a death.

  • Brandy English, 43, of Middletown was last seen in May 2016.
  • Amber Flack, 32, of Middletown disappeared in September 2017.
  • Melinda Miller, 49, of Middletown vanished in February 2017.

Two other women were also reported as missing from surrounding areas.
  • Amber Whitmer, 30, of Springfield went missing in June 2016.

Circumstances of Disappearance
