According to Kim's FB page, she is estranged from her husband, who also has custody of their son and refuses to let her see him, violating the custody agreement. She believes he is alienating her son from her (see comments also).

On February 5, Kim commented that she was admitting herself into an inpatient behavioral disorder home as soon as she could store some possessions. She estimated that it would be two days. Could this be where she is?

Current comment on this post indicates that she has been missing since late February and that her family has hired a PI.

According to comments on the HFKM page, she cut her hair short in late February. The poster says her hair is chin length.

Williams is about 18 miles from Ruch in adjoining Jackson county, which is where Stephanie Warner lived when she disappeared 7/4/13 (see my signature). Both Stephanie and Kim are the same age as my daughter, so these cases tug at my heart. It is believed that Stephanie was killed by her boyfriend Lennie Ames, and she has not been found. I pray for a better outcome for Kim.

Kim's family is very wise to hire a PI. LE in Josephine county is poorly funded and does not have the manpower to devote to the case. According to the HFKM page, Kim's case has been "adopted" by LE, so that must mean that it will get special attention. Oregon State Police is also involved. The family is cooperating closely with LE. They are doing everything right.

Have you seen anything that specifies where she was last seen or under what circumstances?

Good questions. I haven't seen that information. It's important. I'd also add the obvious "by whom" to "under what circumstances". It seems that when she went to her ex's gate to deliver things to her son someone was threatening her.

And I wonder if she ever went to the treatment facility she mentioned. Where is it? Also, why did it take so long to miss her? That indicates that being out of touch may have been normal for her. JMO

I wonder where Kim's car is. Did she go on a long road trip?

Her last FB post says "Well, leave it to me to drive across the landscape by default, though I've been itchin' to do so for weeks now. Whoops!!!!" It's hard to tell what she means, but in reply to a friend mentioning that she saw her son, she sounds angry and depressed and says "I'm too worn down to care anymore. Enough."

Did she go somewhere remote and commit suicide sometime after March 2?

Or was there an accident that hasn't been discovered yet? Is the car hidden because there was foul play. Did she get stuck on a forest service road and try to hike out? So often when someone goes missing their car is found first. It's going to be three months June 2. No sign of Kim.

I worked for a psychiatrist for 11 years. During that time, the husband of one of our patients called to ask if his wife had been in recently for an appointment, or if the Dr. (Psychiatrist for whom I worked) had ordered that she be admitted to a mental health treatment facility. We had not seen her recently, although she usually only came in once a month to renew her medication. She was bipolar, as I recall.

The husband later called back to say that he knew she was in residence at a local treatment facility because he saw her vehicle in the parking lot of the facility. Now, the patient was not estranged from the husband. They were living together at the time. I do believe, though, that he had been out of town for a few days on a business trip, prior to her admitting herself for treatment. They had no children.

Further, when one of our patients was taken to the hospital with a medical condition, induced in part by the serious side effects caused by psychotropic medication she had been prescribed (having to do with the summer heat and the patient becoming dehydrated), she was deemed to be "missing".

Her very best friend, who had been out of town for a week, returned and was unable to reach our patient. She went to her house, for which she had a key. She was not at home. In talking to neighbors, it was learned that apparently, our patient had called paramedics herself, requesting assistance, and she was taken to the hospital. Meanwhile, the friend was at a loss to determine WTH the paramedics had done with her friend (our patient)!

Attempting to assist her best friend (whom I knew well enough, through our patient, to know that our patient would want her to know her whereabouts), I proceeded to call around to the area hospitals/mental health inpatient treatment facilities -- only to finally learn, by some fluke (I can't remember how, exactly, the beans were spilled, honestly!), that she had been admitted as "Patient Jane Doe No. 267" (for anonymity's sake, not under her own name)!

So it is possible that a patient, who admits herself for treatment, may be temporarily 'OUT OF IT" and not realize that she is being "searched for" by family and friends. However, if she had admitted herself for treatment back in February, I would think that having been in treatment for some time, Kimberly would be in a stable condition such that she would be either contacting loved ones herself, or be judged capable of making the decision herself as to who should be advised of her whereabouts.

I fear that she has met with foul play.

And it sure would make sense if LE were allowed to coordinate with medical/mental health treatment facilities to determine the whereabouts of "missing" individuals. Unfortunately, with HIPAA laws, I don't think that is easily done.

Wow! What an experience. Thanks for your input alexwood. I remember a case in NYC like that. Friends were frantic.

I fear Kim has either ended her life or someone ended it for her. The missing vehicle is a puzzle, but I know of another case on WS in which the vehicle has never been found and neither has the missing person (Jeff Joseph). It would be nice if she was just on a road trip though.

Thank you @lilibet for starting this thread. Kim and I went to high school together and I have been worried and praying for her safe return! Her twin sister has been out to Oregon to help look for Kim and met with the police/investigators.
Sleuthers...please continue to think of Kim and sleuthing her case! She has a young son who needs his mom!

:welcome: to Websleuths, Beth. I'm so sorry it's under these circumstances. Even though the thread has been quiet, Kim is not forgotten. It's a tough case because the trail appeared to be cold when she was reported missing, Kim alluded to family issues concerning her son that we can't discuss and we don't know what her mental state was at the time she disappeared. I'm sure this is even more frustrating for ones who know and love her.

I see from the FB page that Kim's car was found at an undisclosed location in Grants Pass recently. It's contents are being processed by OSP. There is an informative comment about her by family.

There is also mention in the second post of a tip received that she might be "on a compound near Klamath Falls." Posters have been widely distributed there.

Please come home Kim! Please keep posting, Beth, even though you are limited by TOS in what you can say.

Hello Lilibet and Websleuths community, I am in Oregon about an hour from Williams. Kim's vehicle was found a month or so ago in Grants Pass. That is the only updated information I have seen for her. I wasn't sure if you knew about this.

Oh, ok, you did report that her vehicle was found. I hope that information helps. I found out about her missing when I was in Williams on May 13. I can't stop thinking about her and hoping that she is okay.

:welcome: Tricia. Thanks for letting us know about the car even though we knew. Things fall through the cracks so it helps. I hope she is somewhere safe. It's so hard for her family and friends.

Here is a more detailed FB post saying that the car was found behind some motels near the north exit of I-5. There was no footage on security cameras as they are recorded over every week or so. The car was found in early June, and I wonder how long it had been there. Kim has not been seen since early March, but it seems that her absence was not reported until much later. I can't imagine that her car has been sitting in Grants Pass since March, so it must have been dropped off there much later. By whom?
