Richard Moss was last seen by his mother on May 25th, just before he left his home. The day before, Moss had stayed home for work due to an illness.

According to his father, Dan Moss, nothing seemed unusual about his behavior. “Two independent people have confirmed that his demeanor was normal – one a coworker, and one a friend that skateboards. And they don’t even know each other,” he said.

There has been no activity on Moss’ Atm card since he’s been missing.

Wow, this is pretty local to me! I'll be following, for sure.

And just FYI, in the title it should be spelled, "Montara". :) it's a beautiful area!!

This is sadly a terribly written article. I really hope his Dad can get some more quality information out there my dad said he is try everything but I would definitely like to get better info out there myself. My Dad's not the best at asking or imposing and it's not exactly like we want to go hey that article really sucked! Good luck with that! His Dad was a coworker of my Dad's in Hawaii and heard from him a few days ago about it. Has anyone heard anything else about this case?

I just look further into it they now have a Facebook group going and they're doing a crowdfunder because they are closing the case because they haven't found him and they need to try to get a private investigator. I know that are spread out in different areas which also makes this difficult.
Here is the link to the info sharing group.

I was just reading the group FB page, and I don't wish to be morbid or insensitive, or graphic, but with big and tall trees I hope they "looked up".

I doubt very much they are closing the case only 10 days in - it would be amazing if they even got Facebook data that fast! This post has his dad's timeline https://www.facebook.com/groups/1799357063726732/permalink/1801065473555891/

This post has info on his car which is also missing https://www.facebook.com/MissingPer...=cmljaGFyZCBtb3NzLGNhbGlmb3JuaWEsbW9zcyxjYQ==

Richard's FB: https://www.facebook.com/richard.moss.9889

And really uncanny http://www.devonlive.com/police-con...m-barnstaple/story-30314256-detail/story.html

Why isn't there a photo of Richard? Pretty hard to find him without one.

The description of the clothing sounds like clothing some skateboarders would wear. But, the age is 6 years different, the missing date only 3 weeks prior. Very uncanny and ironic imo. Hmm!

In the article it says the police didn't want RM to be alerted that they were looking for him. Here's that police log info that they noted:

This message relates to Police Log 401 03/05/2017. It first went out in March, then again May 5.
Please be on the lookout for Richard Moss a 28yr old male reported to police as missing from Barnstaple and last seen at around 1400hrs in Queens Street in Barnstaple yesterday Thursday 4th May.
I think it's the same guy, just bad info.

There are a few characters missing so the link was broken.
A timeline from the FRM FB page
1. Richard talks to Dad on Saturday, May 21st. Everything is fine. Richard was working

2. On Tuesday, May 23rd Richard Moss was working in Montara

3. His last voice call from his cell phone was Tuesday at 12:01 pm from his cell phone to a sandwich shop in Montara, close to where he was working.

4. His co worker stated that Richard had a normal demeanor all day and later, his friend that skateboarded with him stated the same thing about Richard's demeanor.

5. Richard called in sick to work on Wednesday, May 24th.

6. His last text from his phone was to his boss, Jose at about 12:00 pm Wednesday May 24th.

7. He called his boss, Jose at 8:00 pm Wednesday, from the landline at his mother's house to let him know that he would be at work the next day at 7:30 am.

8. According to Richard's mother, Julie Elden he was asleep when she left at 6:15 am Thursday, May 25th.

9. Richard could have gone to Starbuck's in Pacifica to get a drink and then drive to Moss Beach to report to work, which would have been a normal activity for him.

10. Richard Moss did not report to work so his boss drove to his Mother's house to see if Richard was there and discovered no car so the crew went to the job site without Richard Moss

11. Richard Moss has not been seen since then

But Gigs, Barnstaple is in the UK!

According to the facebook group linked above, there are new facts about his last known location. A video camera caught him in his car traveling southbound through the Montara Mountain tunnel, back toward Montara and Moss Beach, after getting McDonalds in Linda Mar. I think he lives in Montara and works in Moss Beach. For those of you who aren't familiar with this area, these are small towns smashed up between the Pacific Ocean and a large mountain range with just one way in and another way out; north on hwy 1 to Linda Mar through the tunnel or south on hwy 1 toward Moss Beach/El Granada/Half Moon Bay and no east bound road over the hill until you get to the main town of Half Moon Bay. Highway 1 continues on south to Santa Cruz, Monterey and Los Angeles, etc.

At this point his family seems to think he was headed to work in Moss Beach, meaning he disappeared in less than 5 minutes ~5 miles :(

I'm cringing as I think about the winding roads. But if his car had gone off an embankment surely there would be evidence, correct?

The family has set up an informal (no law enforcement or professional support so far) search scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday 6/9) at 8am, to begin at 3 Zero Cafe in Moss Beach. If anyone knows of any professional or experienced searchers, etc. in this area that might want to volunteer their time, this would probably be very helpful to the family.

Having grown up in that general area I would say that a lot of it is pretty heavily wooded and hides a car decently well. Unless there are massive skid marks and large broken or damaged trees or something to indicate a crash a car can disappear pretty easily. Where he was driving I don't think it's wooded at all but you could easily go right over the edge of those cliffs nearer to the beach leaving little trace until someone actually inspects the beaches/ravines below. I remember being a little girl and being so scared driving some of those roads along the coast. So hoping that they find him.
