A paroled rapist attacked and fatally stabbed a 22-year-old Bronx woman, then stabbed her father who came to her rescue before turning the blade on himself - all as the woman's 7-year-old son watched in horror, cops said.
Sheldon Becker, 45, was under arrest at Jacobi Medical Center for the bloody Christmas morning rampage at the Throgs Neck home where he was renting a room. Charges were pending.
Police said Becker, a Level 2 sex offender, attacked the homeowner's daughter Dimaris Lopez about 10:25 a.m. yesterday.
Police sources said the victim's son, whose name was not released, saw Becker drag his mother into her bedroom. Her screams brought her father, Hector Lopez, 62, downstairs to her room, where he found Becker atop his daughter on the bed, her shirt ripped off. She was stabbed once in the chest.
As the father tried to pull the attacker off his daughter, Becker allegedly stabbed the older man once in the chest and once in the side, police said.
Another tenant in the house, on the Cross Bronx Expressway service road, heard the screams and ran down, cops said, only to find that Becker had barricaded himself in his room.
When police broke into the room, they found Becker in a bloody heap, self-inflicted slash wounds on both arms.
"He was out of his mind drunk," a police source said.
While Becker survived his suicide attempt, Dimaris Lopez died at Jacobi, police said.
Hector Lopez also was brought to Jacobi, where he was in stable condition.
Police said Becker, who had been living in a rented room in the house for several months, was paroled in June after serving 13 years in prison on a first-degree rape conviction.
