On Monday, June 12, Ayette Dial, a 30-year-old woman from Trinidad was reported missing, according to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office.

Dial is described as 5 feet tall and weighs 135 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She has a tattoos; one of a dragonfly on her wrist, a tiger on her foot and a blue flower between her shoulder blades.

Dial was last seen leaving her brother's house by foot in Hayfork the night of June 9.

According to officials, Dial drives a dark blue 2013 Scion XD four-door Sedan with possible Pennsylvania plates.

If she left on foot, why are we looking for her car? How did she get to her brother's house?

Ayette drives a dark blue 2013 Scion XD four door sedan with possible Pennsylvania plates. Ayette has been residing in Trinidad, but the last time she was seen was leaving her brother’s residence in Hayfork on the night of 6/9/2017. Ayette’s brother, Kevin Dial, said his sister left in the night on foot.

A short news report, but here's what we can glean about this case: Ayette is originally from Hanford, PA. She moved to northern CA about a year ago. She was living in Trinidad, CA, a seaside city up there in Humboldt County. Her brother lives in Hayfork, also in northern CA, 127 miles further inland from Trinidad (according to Google maps).

She was expected to fly in to PA on June 7 but didn't show up at the airport. And just as reported in other reports, it says she was last seen leaving her brothers place on foot on June 9, and reported missing to authorities on June 12.

Such sparse information. Did the brother know Ayette had been scheduled to fly to PA on the 7th (and missed doing so, since he saw her after that date passed)? What was her demeanor while at the brother's home? Where does the brother say she was heading as she walked away? Why do news reports all mention her car if she left on foot...is her car missing too, so they are guessing she may walked to her car and driven somewhere?

How sad.

On Saturday afternoon, a man swimming in the area of Big Bar
off Hwy 299 discovered a dead person in the waterway, confirmed Detective Josh Ford of the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office.

“We have located human remains,” Ford said. The remains were found not far from the area that Ayette Dial was last seen. Dial, a 30-year-old woman has been missing since June 9 when she disappeared from her brother’s residence near Hayfork, confirmed Ford.

:rose: RIP beautiful Ayette :(
