WALTHAM, MA (WHDH) - Police are searching for Sara LaRoche, 73, of Waltham.
Officers say she has been missing since Thursday night and was last seen near Brook Avenue.
She is believed to be alone and may have dementia.
LaRoche is Haitian and only speaks French-Creole.

This case has me baffled. I received 3 Amber alerts initially about her and then - nothing. Very little follow up by the media as Dalagali has shown. Waltham is a very densely populated Boston suburb and it's so odd that there has been no info for 6 weeks. Prayers for her family.

WALTHAM, MA — It's been nearly two weeks, and Waltham Police say despite their best efforts and the tips that have come in, they have not found the woman who went missing from Waltham on May 25.

"We've just about turned over every rock and stone in the city. The last place we saw her on camera crossing Main Street and Exchange," said Detective Sgt. Joseph Guigno.

Sara Laroche went missing on May 25 near the area of Brook Avenue and was last seen wearing a long blue skirt, a yellow sweatshirt and a dark knit hat. Police said they looked for her on both May 26 and 27, but were unable to find her. They've pulled several images of her on Moody and Main streets from surveillance footage but have yet to locate her. The 73-year old woman is new to the city and only speaks Creole and might have dementia, said police.

Bones were found in a remote wooded area behind Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School. Clothing found with the remains, interviews with family members, and surveillance video leads investigators to believe the bones belong to Sara LaRoche.

I live in Waltham and am really surprised she was found in this location! She was last seen on Moody St. (Photo above) heading towards Main St. I don't know which route she took but she may of passed the police station to get to the location she was found. The police station is on Lexington St.!
I am just heartbroken she obviously found a place to shelter from the rain that day and she wasn't found!

Family said she did not have dementia, but yet later on in the article it said she was babysitting her grandchildren that day and told them she was going for a walk and would be back later- how old were her grandchildren that she was babysitting?

Could she have possibly been feeling not so good that day, thought she had indigestion, went for a walk to try to relieve it (my elderly father-in-law believes walking cures everything, lol- he's almost 84), ended up having a heart attack while walking in the woods and tried to lay down for a bit and passed away?

So sad to hear this, may she rest in peace.

I'm pretty sure she had dementia. Maybe not officially diagnosed. Who in their right mind would go off leaving their grandchildren, especially not living in the area for long?

I agree Boston Mom. Why would the family let her babysit small children when she was new to the area, didn't speak the language, and probably had some cognitive impairment? My hinky meter was going off a week or so after her disappearance when the family was not involved in any presser and made no comments.
She was found on the other side of town from where she was last seen walking, and I find it very strange that LE says no foul play. IMO
