NV - Henderson, 'Arroyo Grande' WhtFem 258UFNV, 14-25, Oct'80 *GRAPHIC*
Could the young woman who is buried in a "potter's" grave in the Nevada desert be Laureen Rahn, a 14-year-old Manchester girl who disappeared 25 years ago this month?
Rick Jones, an investigator for the Clark County coroner's office in Las Vegas, believes it is possible.
Last week, Jones tracked down the former Judith Rahn with his suspicion that one of the 159 "unidentified" bodies his office is trying to identify could be her missing daughter. Laureen's mother has since taken back her maiden name, Judith Swanson, and lives in Florida.
Jones was searching national databases of missing children when Laureen Rahn's photo caught his eye. The Manchester girl bore some resemblance to a young woman whose nude body had been found by a passer-by, off a desert road in Henderson, Nev., on the night of Oct. 5, 1980.
Jones said it was the 1980 Jane Doe and another unidentified young woman who inspired him to look into these kinds of cases when he first joined the coroner's office in 1998. They reminded him, he said, of his own daughter.
"I just felt like if this was my daughter missing . . . I would never stop looking. And I fully believe that these families of these missing people have never stopped looking for their loved ones."
So he now spends "every free moment" working on the "Las Vegas Unidentified" Web site. "As far as we're concerned, they may be buried, but they're never forgotten," he said. "We're never going to stop looking."
And Jones is not the only searcher.
Gerald Nance is the senior case manager for the special case unit at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Alexandria, Va. It's a unit he set up two and a half years ago.
A former homicide investigator, Nance deals now only with long-term missing and unidentified individuals; he refrains from using the term "cold cases."
"We call them special cases, because no parent wants to hear their kid's case is a cold case," he explained

Discarded records
http://www.theunionleader.com/articl...?article=53462
"but when she moved to Bedford in 1998, they were discarded. "
There should be some kind of place to send old dental records, so that they are never discarded, and also some kind of laws that state how they should be handled. They should not have been stored in a place where they could get ruined by a flood, fire, or any of that.
I mean really, records like these could help so many families out there you know!
Is there a place where this woman could've sent her fathers old records to?

NV - Henderson - Female 258UFNV, 14-25 - 5 Oct 1980 - "S" Tattoo - *WARNING: GRAPHIC*
The desert where they found Jane Doe disappeared long ago, forgotten under asphalt highways and stucco homes.
Twenty-five years have passed since her death, but Henderson police Detective John Williams hasn't forgotten. Not when Jane Doe still doesn't have a name, and not when her killer still walks free.
Of all his cold cases, however, the Jane Doe case, which dates back to October 1980, affects him the most.
Twenty-five years later, the details of the case are etched into his memory: She was found nude, beaten to death with a hammer, stabbed in the back and dumped off state Route 146. She had a homemade "S" tattoo on her right forearm, and she wasn't much older than 16.
She had been dumped near the intersection of old Lake Mead Drive and Arroyo Grande Boulevard. Two men discovered her when they pulled off the road. Williams had no witnesses and no name for Jane Doe.
Investigators thought Jane Doe might have come from California, but no one ever came forward to identify her. Detectives also looked at possible connections with serial killers of the day, including Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole. Together they confessed to hundreds of murders across the country, though experts believe they were responsible for far less.
Nevertheless, they never claimed responsibility for Jane Doe, Williams said.

If they are not the same person, I'll be really surprised. Interesting the missing Rachel is from Newton NH. There is another girl named Laureen Rahn who went missing 20 miles away in nearby town of Manchester NH, just one month later, A few years ago Laureen was thought to be this exact same UID found in LV NV. Her pic is at the following link. Laureens mother doesn't think it's her. (and Laureen was 3 inches taller than the UID) They look similar.

I bet the farm these 2 girls fell into the hands of the same Pedo/porno monsters. They both came from very similar back grounds and had the same interests. So very sad for these poor girls.

That looks like a perfect match. I'm really bad at recognizing people, but that looks like the same person. My recognition was instant from one to the other, like there was no doubt.

I'm not good at matching up people either but these 2 look identical to me. The shape of the face and especially the nose and mouth look exactly the same. I sure hope this turns out to be a match.
