[h=3]Human remains found in woods near I-85 in Banks County[/h]
On Sunday, February 5, 2017, a skeleton was discovered in a wooded area near New Salem Methodist Church, at 2170 Highway 59, in Commerce. The body’s location was one mile south of I-85, Exit 154 for Toccoa/SR 63/Martin Bridge Road. The Banks County Sheriff’s Office requested GBI’s assistance with the investigation.

A forensic anthropological examination estimates the remains to be of an African American/Hispanic female, approximately 30-44 years of age, and approximately 4’9’ to 5’6” in height. The date of death is estimated to be up to 4 years prior to the time of discovery.

Found among the remains, was a metal ring and a butterfly necklace charm. Blue, purple, and gray in color fabrics were also collected from the scene. Dental is available for comparison.

Jeremy Howell, special agent and crime scene specialist with the GBI, is determined to understand who she is, where her story began, and why it ended in this rural resting place.

Leading the investigation, he said, they are hoping someone will recognize the evidence they found alongside her bones, which were scattered throughout the woods just yards off Hwy. 59, in Commerce, Ga., and within earshot of one Georgia’s busiest interstate with several exit points full of trees, brush and thick countryside to cover a crime or dump a body.

“I-85 is a highway that connects several metropolitan areas, whether it's Atlanta or up through South Carolina, into North Carolina—along those roadways are several rural areas in which a body can be clandestinely discarded,” Howell said. “It's easy just to pull off I-85, travel about a mile, and you're at a very secluded area in which you can dispose of a body.”

New forensic artwork has been released to identify remains found last year in a wooded area next to a Banks County, Ga., church.

A woman, quickly dubbed Jane Doe, was found in Commerce, Ga., approximately one mile off Interstate 85 in February 2017. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been in possession of few clues to identify her, including some clothing, jewelry, and her bones.

I'm glad they finally released a composite sketch for her. Hoping there will be a break in this case soon.
 
This lady's NamUs profile needs some updating--height is incorrectly entered (49" versus 4'9"). Unidentified Person Case

As far as Rosselys Felix, she has a very distinctive gap in her front teeth. There are photos of this lady's skull, and there is a gap there, but I can't tell if that is a true gap or a missing tooth.

The skull is missing one of her front teeth so it is hard to tell if she would have had a gap. My initial impression was that there was not a distinctive gap as Rosselys had. JMO. We can see the teeth up close 11 seconds into the video here: GONE COLD | Mystery off I-85: Do you know Jane?

(There are lots of photos on that article too but for some reason the photos are not loading for me but the video is-- if anyone can copy a photo of the skull over here that may be helpful)

yes I knew about the gap but one front tooth is missing so I was unsure if this UID had a gap.
 
Identified as Shada Esther, her boyfriend at that time now arrested!

GONE COLD | Jane Doe identified, arrest made in missing persons case
A mother of three disappeared in August 2016—then a Jane Doe was found in Commerce, Ga., in 2017. Now, the GBI may have her killer.

On Aug. 25, 2016, the Moultrie Police Department requested the GBI to assist with a missing person investigation after Esther did not pick up her three children at the school bus stop on Aug. 23, 2016.

That investigation determined that she was last with her live-in boyfriend, 49-year-old Michael Heads.

According to the GBI, Heads left Moultrie and traveled to Atlanta within an hour of Esther’s last contact with anyone else.

With the assistance of the GBI Region 10 field office in Conyers, Georgia, and the Gwinnett County Police Department, Heads was interviewed and his vehicle was processed for evidence.

However, he was not taken into custody at that time and he then moved to Slidell, Louisiana.

Banks County and Moultrie are on opposite parts of the state, over 400 miles apart.

In April 2019, DNA analysis confirmed the remains were Esther, said the GBI.

Heads was arrested on Tuesday in Slidell, Louisiana, police said. He appeared in court on Wednesday and agreed to be extradited to Georgia to face charges for Esther's murder.

Heads has also been charged with two counts of felony financial transaction card fraud, said police.

MOULTRIE, Ga. – Shada Esther, from Moultrie, updated her cover photo on Facebook for the last time on August 18, 2016.

On August 23, Esther was dead.

On Tuesday, April 23, 2019, the GBI and the Moultrie Police Department, with the assistance of the St. Tammany’s Parish Sheriff’s Office (LA) arrested Michael Heads, 49 years of age, for the murder of Shada Esther, which occurred on August 23, 2016.

Heads posted his final Facebook post on August 22, 2016.

Heads was also charged with two counts of felony financial transaction card fraud. Heads was located in Slidell, Louisiana.
