Found Deceased VT - Cynthia Whalen, 52, Colchester, 2 July 2017

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Cynthia Whalen was last seen Sunday night by friends and family at the end Niquette Bay Road in Colchester. Police say the 52 year-old woman wandered away from the camp she was staying at around 10:30 p.m., she hasn’t been seen since.

On Monday afternoon, Whalen’s shoes were found by search near a beaver dam not far from where she was last seen. Police say they appeared to have washed up there.

"We have air assets from the U.S. Border Patrol, a drone from the Grand Isle Sheriff that went up to search the area, we have marine assets from Colchester Police and Colchester Technical Rescue, the Vermont State Police Search and Rescue team and we've got K-9 units from New England K-9,” Lt. Doug Allen, Colchester Police Department.

Whalen is described as a white female, about 5 feet, 8-inches tall; blonde hair and with a medium build.

She was last seen wearing khaki cargo-type shorts and a tan top.

Whalen has no known medical issues, according to the release.
