A 4-year-old girl helped her mother, who had just fallen off a Taylorsville roof, get help Thursday by calling 911 and giving the dispatcher valuable information.
The girl called 911 about 11:40 a.m. and told the dispatcher that her mother had fallen off the roof of the home on the 4700 South block of Erin Lane (1145 West), and that she was hurt, said Unified Fire Authority Firefighter/Paramedic Joe Wilcken.
"Honestly she did a fantastic job," he said, adding that sometimes adults don't give information as well as the girl did.
The mother was not conscious when crews arrived but regained consciousness shortly thereafter. She was flown to University Hospital in serious condition.
The woman fell when she was taking down Christmas lights, marking at least the third serious accident involving Christmas lights this year in Utah.

"I just talked on the phone," Jessica told news media gathered outside her home.
That phone conversation was with a 911 dispatcher whom Jessica had the presence of mind to call after her mother, Erica Holden, fell and was knocked unconscious about noon outside their home.
"She can't stand up," Jessica is heard telling the dispatcher on the 911 tape. "She got up, then she fell down."
