"A powerful earthquake measuring a magnitude of 6.7 has struck off the Turkish coast, triggering a tsunami in the Mediterranean.

Beachfront hotels full of British holidaymakers were flooded in the coastal city of Marmaris, Turkey, while the effects were also felt on islands such as Crete and Rhodes.

Eyewitnesses posted videos of hospital staff and patients cowering for cover, while tourists were forced to flee their rooms and gather in the street.

The earthquake caused cracks in one hotel, with tourists facing a night sleeping on the beach after they were told to leave the building for their own safety."

I am praying there are no fatalities or serious injuries. Locals and tourists say it was very frightening.

Its sad that it is already known two lives have been lost.
