"I just want everybody to know how hard this is," said Karen Klee, 43, tearing up in the living room of her condo on Ann Arbor's south side on Wednesday, Oct. 12. "For them to just take my son's life like that. There's no reason.

Klee asks that anyone with her son's belongings that he may have left with friends turn in the items at the police station so she can get them back.

The only thing that she says has brought her comfort in the week since her son's death has been the arrest of the individuals police think are responsible. She plans to attend the hearings of the teenagers charged with murder and various robbery charges."

Delreno Gracey of Ypsilanti and Jermarius Ellison of Redford were charged with homicide, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, conspiracy to commit unarmed robbery and conspiracy to commit larceny. They were expected to be sentenced Monday.

One teen involved in the shooting, Dana Wright, was already sentenced in July for second degree murder and given 23 to 50 years prison.

Danta Wright pleaded guilty to fatally shooting 17-year-old Jordan Klee. He had been charged with open murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, conspiracy to commit unarmed robbery, conspiracy to commit larceny from a person, and felony firearm.

So sad for you, beautiful boy... and so very sad for your mom, who lives on in her pain and loss.

Jermarius Ellison, 19, and Delrano Gracey, 18, were each sentenced to 15-40 years when they appeared in the Washtenaw County Trial Court after pleading guilty in the killing of Jordan Klee, who was fatally shot Oct. 4, 2016.

Karen Klee was too upset to address the courtroom directly and had an official from the Washtenaw County Prosecutor's Office read her letter.

"Jordan no longer has a future," she wrote in the letter. "I lost my only son, my baby, my friend. More than that, I lost laughter and love."
