The male goes by the name Ry Sammons (Ryan Scott Sammons) on Facebook and is 22-years-old. A family member said McDermott knows Sammons, who resides in Maryland, through Facebook. Sammons also has been in contact with several young girls from all different states via Facebook.

McDermott's cell phone has been off and no one has been able to get in contact with her.

McDermott's legal name is Morgan McDermott, but she goes by the name Morgan Mason on Facebook, according to a family member.
