Police in the US are continuing their investigation into the death of a Limerick man who was killed in a suspected domestic disturbance at his home in North Carolina.

The father of two children, moved to America four years ago after his first wife Mags Corbett died following an asthma attack in 2006. Its understood Mr Corbett was living in North Carolina with his new partner who is American and who previously worked as a child minder.

Thomas Martens, a former FBI agent, told 911 he had been “in an argument” with his son-in-law and that he had “struck him with a baseball bat”, the Irish Daily Mail reports. According to an police incident report seen by the paper, the incident was recorded as “an assault” by 911.
...
His wife Molly was believed to have been the main suspect but police in the US have confirmed that her father Thomas Martens (65), a retired FBI agent, is also a person of interest.

I can understand MM shaking and crying when custody was discussed, but I find it odd that mentioning the name of the birth mother had that response.

Very interesting.
I remember you referred to the hope that a female prosecutor would question TM.. it was the female prosecutor that was questioning TL at the time.
Problem is to know whether it was real or faked..?

Why didn't Sharon call 911?

Let's go back to the night of the murder. Sharon was in another area of the home, I believe downstairs. She starts to hear an enormous commotion upstairs where her beloved daughter, sleeps. And, it wasn't just a thump in the night, but all the noise, vibrations, etc. of a person being brutally murdered. She had no idea of what was happening, or did she? Wouldn't a rational person be concerned enough to know someone was being injured, and pick up one of many cell phones at her disposal? She must have known what was happening, and was part of the coverup.

To me, it explains why she did not call 911.

IMHO

I have known a few families who have lost a child to death. I know a family whose son,daughter-in-law, and two, grandchildren were killed in a private plane crash.
All of these families are on FB. None of them have chosen to make a public spectacle of their grief.

Day after day after day....always in high torque.

It was the sheer volume and public breast beating of MM's FB page that first began to have me actually question her "love" for those children. She knew they would be grieving their Dad. She knew they could read.

Where was her maternal protection of them...her mother's empathy (none deeper) for their grief if they should ever see some of her insinuations on FB?

I decided early on that it was all show biz. A defense tactic in case she should be charged. A gambit for sympathy. A hint, hint to the jury that poor Molly had already suffered for her crime.

Yes!

And she had four cell phones in the room. Her husband went upstairs with a bat to face...burglar? Serial killer? Maybe three guys with guns?

She just lets ole Tom handle it on his own....

Oh to be a fly on the wall of that court room today

I previously reported Martens purchased the bat. That's incorrect. The bat was in his garage and was used by his son when he was younger

Martens said he thought jack would think it'd be cool to get a bat that was used by his son
