WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Indiana State Police have issued an AMBER Alert for four children, all under the age of 10, that have been abducted from West Lafayette.

Azzura Ballard is a 7 year old black female, 4 feet tall, with black hair, and brown eyes.

Akira Ballard is a 3 year old black female, 3 feet tall, with black hair, and brown eyes.
Ahleiryah Ballard is a 1 year old black female.
Anthony Ballard Jr. is an 8 year old black male, 4 feet tall, with black hair and brown eyes.
The children were last seen August 3 and are believed to be in extreme danger.

The West Lafayette Police Department believes the children were likely abducted by their mother, Victoria Dominique Whorton, 27, who is 5 feet 2 inches tall, 145 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Do you have a link? Their missing kids posters are still active and news stations are still reporting it: http://www.theindychannel.com/news/local-news/amber-alert-4-children-missing-from-west-lafayette

I know sometimes news won't correct until the morning though if they are found in the middle of the night.

So far there's been no reports that I can find saying the Amber Alert is cancelled. I've got WDRB's Twitter open to monitor. They've been reporting the most on this case so hopefully if something changes we'll see it right away. I'm going to bed but I'm leaving the tab open. With luck I'll wake up to see these precious children found.

I was hoping they would be found when I came back this morning too, but their missing posters are still active :(

Beyond West Lafayette, is anyone saying where they were last seen/known to be? Or, where they were supposed to be and didn't arrive?

I-65 runs through Lafayette - they could literally be ANYWHERE by now.

Interesting IMO that police are not seeking charges against the mother.

Some quotes from an article:
Police determined that Whorton was in Chicago with the children and made contact with her by phone, at which point she told police where she was, VanVactor said. Chicago Police then helped investigators verify that the kids were safe.
VanVactor said that Whorton was not in police custody and that no charges were filed against her Saturday afternoon, but that Child Protective Services and the Tippecanoe County prosecutor’s office may pursue charges in the future.

It sounds like maybe she cooperated once she was found. She told them where she was at least. LE left open the possibility of charges in the future. I hope those babies will be in a home where they are loved and cared for.
