DNR, Webster Co Deputies, Iowa State Patrol, and Webster Co HazMat have met up at the Clare Fire Dept. Lots of 4wheelers and officers on hand. There was a helicopter flying back and forth over Clare yesterday. Assuming they are getting a search perimeter mapped out and will be going out to do some searches.

If you state something as fact, you must provide a link to either MSM or LE to support such fact or it is considered rumor at Websleuths.

Rumor posts and responses to them have been removed.

The grandmother of a Fort Dodge woman who had been reported missing last week says the 26-year-old is most likely dead.

Jacqui McCollum, of Fort Dodge, said a body was found Saturday that could be her granddaughter, Jessica L. Gomez.

Webster County Sheriff Jim Stubbs said late Saturday night that he could not confirm that report.

He said the investigation into Gomez’s disappearance was continuing.

But McCollum said Saturday night that she had been told by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation that a body believed to be her granddaughter was found around 4:30 that afternoon.

A formal identification is pending.

McCollum also posted on social media late Saturday night that the body had been found.

“We have been informed that a body was found this afternoon near Clare Iowa. They think it is probably her. We won’t know positively until autopsy is completed. Thank uou (sic) for your prayers and support.”

Gomez and her*“best friend”*MacKenzie Knigge, 26, of Clare, were reported missing last week.

Knigge was found safe in Lafayette, Indiana, on Thursday, the Iowa Department of Public Safety reported.

This is weird. Best friends go missing on different days. One is found in IN, and shortly after they're searching for the other, and a body is found. Grandmother assumes it's JG. Makes me wonder if the friend found in IN and from Clare, tipped LE about the body. Will have to follow for any arrests, or maybe it was an accidental death. Just speculating and moo. This is in western IA and I live across the state, so our local news will not carry this news story. They barely cover Des Moines that's in the center of the state!

[h=1]Body found in rural Webster County[/h]
According to the Webster County Sheriff's department, a body was found in a rural area just east of Clare. An autopsy is underway to figure out cause of death, as well as the identity of the person. The sheriff's office and the Division of Criminal Investigation are working the case.
Jessica Gomez was reported missing from Fort Dodge a week ago, and has not been found. Another woman reported missing, Mackenzie Knigge, was found earlier this week in Indiana. It's not clear the status of the investigation to find Gomez, or if Gomez is somehow connected to this case.

[h=1]Mystery deepens: 1 of 2 missing women now held in Indiana[/h]
This past week, officials in Webster County said they were looking for Jessica Gomez and Mackenzie Knigge, both 26, who went missing earlier this month.

Knigge was found safe Thursday in Indiana.

Gomez's grandmother told the Fort Dodge Messenger that DCI officials have said the body is likely Gomez. The Webster County Sheriff would only say that an autopsy will be done to determine the identity and cause of death.
KCCI has learned that Knigge is being held on a Webster County warrant in the Tippecanoe County Jail, but it is not yet clear what she has been charged with.

Mackenzie Lee Knigge is in custody on a warrant at the Tippecanoe County Jail in Indiana. It's also not immediately clear what criminal charges prompted a warrant for Knigge's arrest. She was jailed Friday, records show.

On Saturday, authorities discovered a body in rural Webster County, near Clare. That person's identity has not been publicly released, but Gomez's family members have told local media that they believe it's her body.
